MESA to hold $100,000 LAN in Mongolia

OG, TheMongolz, and Lynn Vision have accepted invites for Nomadic Masters Spring 2024, which will be held at the Steppe Arena in Ulaanbaatar.

TheMongolz will fight for the title on home soil

The Mongolian Esport Association (MESA) has announced Nomadic Masters Spring 2024, a $100,000 arena LAN event in the country's capital of Ulaanbaatar, and a Fall edition to occur with the same prize pool.

Taking place from May 28 to June 2, the tournament organizer says its main goal is to "foster regular competition between Asian and top European teams," with two European teams penned in for invites.

OG is the first of the European teams to have received an invite, joining Asia's top dogs The MongolZ and Lynn Vision as the first three confirmed attendees.

The two opening rounds of the tournament's upper bracket will be best-of-ones before the event switches to best-of-threes for the elimination games on day two and beyond.

The double-elimination bracket will play out in a studio for the first two days before moving to the 2600-capacity Steppe Arena for the last four series, where a champion will be crowned in a best-of-five final.

Nomadic Masters Spring 2024 is a successor to the Nomadic Masters Spring 2022 LAN held in the same arena that also functioned as Asia's BLAST Spring Showdown qualifier. MESA also hosted the fractious BLAST.tv Paris Major Asia RMR.

The slot distribution is as follows:

Mongolia The MongolZ
Europe OG
Asia Asia Invite No. 3
Other TBA
China Lynn Vision
Europe EU Invite No. 2
Mongolia Mongolia Qualifier
Other TBA

besides, Mongolz would never have made it to Chengdu in time anyways since Monte's withdrawal was a very last minute thing and Mongolians still would've needed visas for this.

They were notorious for pulling out on xse pro league s2 at the last minute, and events like iem don’t invite; you have to play for it in a qualifier. The mongolz don’t attend small tournaments that wont improve their ESL/valve/blast rankings so idk what ur saying

True for CAC though, and wings up substituted for that event after g2 announced that they would miss out on CAC instead of the mongolz. Idt ESL is a Chinese organization so has nothing to do with Chengdu

tech pauses because of poor pcs but it depends on the organizers, the blast rmr set in Ulaanbaatar was bad most likely got to do with the poor electricity services locally though, like electricity just goes off for absolutely no reasons, I remember the mongolz had to forfeit a match against tyloo because of power outages and now they relocated to Vietnam for online qualifiers

Holy smokes, what an advantage for that upper bracket team in the finals. That lower bracket team will need to play a BO3 before playing in the BO5 finals. Thats already a huge advantage. Also, ++ for having BO5 finals. More competitions need BO5s
