Imperial through to GET Rio grand final as day 2 ends after 19 hours of CS
After matches were postponed on day one, day two of the tournament ended past 4 AM local time as Imperial claimed the first spot in the final.

Another long day at Global Esports Tour Rio took place as five best-of-three series and a best-of-one match were played over 19 hours of competition at the $200,000 tournament taking place at Ginásio do Maracanãzinho.
Two matches were postponed on day one after heavy delays, and it didn't help matters that four overtimes were played across three maps between FURIA and Metizport as the second day began.
The Brazilian side, playing with academy member Kayke "kye" Bertolucci instead of Andrei "arT" Piovezan following the benching of the long-time core member, triumphed in the grueling lower bracket semi-final.
FURIA's efforts against the Swedes were all for naught, though. They bowed out of the competition a few hours later, with their former member, André "drop" Abreu, topping the charts for MIBR as they moved on in the lower bracket.

On the other side of the lower bracket, OG began their climb back from a day one loss to MIBR. A comeback from down 4-10 on Ancient powered them to a three-map victory over Monte, with their stand-in AWPer, Mădălin-Andrei "MoDo" Mirea, topping the board.
The Romanian continued to put up solid numbers as OG passed their second elimination match against 9z with flying colors to set up a rematch against MIBR. That was originally supposed to be played that day as well, but with hours of delays racking up due to a jam-packed schedule, it was postponed to Saturday.

So the day came to a close with a three-map upper final affair between Imperial and paiN, which kicked off past 1 AM local time, more than five hours behind schedule.
It was their second encounter of the day, after they had previously met in the Esports World Cup South American closed qualifier nine hours before that. paiN won their first series handily but Imperial struck back the second time around with Kaiky "noway" Santos and João "felps" Vasconcellos starring in their Nuke and Overpass wins.
Imperial now await for their grand final opponent as two series will be played before the title decider scheduled for 21:00 .
