VP.Angels are no more after failing to qualify for ESL Impact League Season 5 Finals.

meo and co.'s time under the VP banner comes to a close after almost a year and a half

Virtus.pro have announced the disbanding of their women's team, VP.Angels. The organization's decision to part ways with the roster comes just after their unfortunate campaign in ESL Impact League Season 5 Europe, which saw the Russian side miss out on qualification for the LAN finals in Dallas.

The former Angels squad competed under the VP.Angels banner for three consecutive seasons of ESL Impact League, where the squad often struggled to find their footing.

The Russian team finished in 11-12th place in both Seasons 3 and 4 of ESL Impact League, with their 9-10th place showing in Season 5 being their best performance in the league to date.

"In the future, we may well return with new women's rosters, but in the current circumstances, both us and the VP.Angels players need a certain reboot," Virtus.pro CEO Nikolai Petrossian said in a statement.

Nigma Galaxy lineup to depart organization; replace vilga with zAAz

VP.Angels are not the only ESL Impact side to have lost organizational support in recent times. Since the end of 2023, G2 Esports, Nigma Galaxy and GamerLegion have all parted ways with their women's rosters.

No, if they want go be at a major, go through open qualifiers like 100's of other teams.

Yea let's put on a tournament that would cost millions and make less than nothing. There is no viewership for female cs. They wouldn't be able to sell out a 1000 seat venue. It would lose millions of dollars.

I've been following fe cs for a year and although it's nothing like men cs in terms of number of tournaments, its been cool to watch esl impact unfold. these last qualifiers were nuts
