fnatic and Reason in CSP clash

Reason Gaming taking on fnatic? Yes, you read it correctly; the two teams will be facing off against each other, in CSPromod.

There has not been many tests of CSPromod to the wider audience yet, but we will soon witness one, as Reason Gaming from CS:S and fnatic from CS 1.6 will us one of the first battles in this custom version of Counter-Strike.

On Sunday the 21st of March the two teams will play a best-of-three maps show match, to give the community a feel of how this game will be played, compared to CS:S and CS 1.6. It will also be a fun battle between the best teams of the respective games (CS:S and CS 1.6).

The match is organized by Cadred and will be streamed on QuadV, commentated by Stuart "TosspoT" Saw, who will guide us through the battle. So tune in next Sunday and watch the battle between fnatic and Reason – Who do you think will be crowned winners?

Yeah Quake Live is awesome. But it's a pretty ridiculous comparrison, especially since it a whole other game, and it aint a mod (That i know of) Counter-Strike we're also awesome in the betae's back in the days. But as so many others than myself see CSPromod in the beta stages: It blows. But alot of people really have faith in it, and you can't really judge it before it comes out, but relying so much on the betaes and making showoff matches and tournaments is way to early, i mean... they still have the Source models for crying out loud!

Well if you read my entire post throughout you would've understood, that's one of my points. I werent either saying anything positive or negative about CSP Generally, but i told my oppinion about the BETA, which has too many holes and leaks to be playable. Indeed people find it playable and interesting, but the game itself is not fit competitively at all just yet.

That is an unfair comparison. Quake Live is based off of Quake 3: Arena so therefore Quake Live had a preexisting/finished game to work off of. CSP is started from scratch aside from the Source models.

Try to recreate a game with the same gameplay with a small team and without the original game code. Its a little bit hard :S , unfortunately.

Reasong Gaming will win 2:0, because they are from CS:S and CSPromod based on CS:S's maps and RG knew all the position's stuff and pluses. This is only my opinion:D sorry if I'am wrong.

tbh fnatic should have this. Reason gaming's biggest strength is their awper Guardian, and the CSP awp is much more 1.6 than source, this is going to deminish his impact on the match. even with Guardian playing I dont think Reason are even the best source team out there, with the greatest respect to them. also the map positioning is more 1.6 orientated, so whilst both teams are going to have to get some new positions i think it will be an easier adaption for fnatic

What are you talking about? The maps are exactly the same as 1.6, even the boxes are the same. The only differences are outside of playable areas.

well its so hard to compare across games so I really dont know. all I can say is that at LANs last year Guardian was consistently out aiming most other awpers from other teams. if you asked me 6 months ago i would have said Guardian>dsn, but especially since gux left, Ive been really impressed with dsn. He seems really on his game right now. ive never seen guardian awp on 1.6, but apparantly he did play it for several years, but evidently he never made a huge impact on the scene. although that probably has more to do with the czec/slovac css scene than his individual skill

not to me, the step sounds are just ridicilous, models(guns in particular) feel WAY WAY WAY too big = the maps feel small. But thats just 4 me. And why complicate the scoreboard? oh bout recoil, it will never feel like CS 1.6 with these models

Step sounds (as well as every other sound) are going to be changed by custom ones closer to 1.6. The maps aren't small, it's the source players models that are taller and there are gonna be new ones in 1.05 the same size as 1.6. There will be a new scoreboard as well.

1.6 players if fnatic win: source pros are bad and 1,6 pros dominate them at their own game source players if fnatic win: why did any of you expect reason to win, its a remake of 1.6 on the source engine 1.6 players if fnatic lose: game is too source-like, how could fnatic have a chance when they dont even play source source players if fnatic lose: 1.6 pros are bad and source pros dominate them at their own game

fnatic will win easily! Even in a CS:S Showmatch, where both teams would play css fnatic would win against the best css team by far... its just a noob-game. I played cs1.6 for years and on one LAN i've won the final IN CS:S vs a CS:S team by not even touching the game once before the tournament... so thats how i think about it!

I think it'll be very close, because the guns from CSP 1.04 shoot like the ones from 1.6, but the models aren't fixed yet and maybe the players from Reason Gaming are more familiar with them.

let's not play CSP, as long as we will be loyal to the old 1.6 version, it won't die and their efforts to make it disappear will remain useless.

Why so hateful? That's kinda pathetic... They're doing something for the community, their goal is to keep the 1.6 gameplay alive for years, not kill 1.6 (which is going to die sooner or later as there are no new players coming in and big sponsors aren't interested in 1.6 anymore).

where did you see any hate ? just saying 1.6 can't and shouldn't be replaced, and that's the players who will keep it alive, not CSP. don't know when you started playing but I discovered CS with 1.3 so I can't imagine playing this game with such huge graphic changes.

Well if you can't play a game because of newer graphics then I don't know what to tell you, perhaps you'll change your mind once you're used to them. Anyway, "that's the players who will keep it alive" that's my point, no new players are coming in and old players are quitting and thus the game is slowly dying out. Furthermore, having newer graphics will attract big sponsors such as Nvidia or Intel (1.6 doesn't because you don't need their latest hardware to run it properly) and help esports grow.

nixon you might wanna add line-ups? most source players will know fnatics but quite some 1.6 players will not know reason gaming would've preferred to see m go up against the old fnatic.css :P
