What you're talking about is the animations and those will be fixed (completely brand new ones) in the version which will come out after 1.09.

Sorry to burst your bubble but CSS is much easier, that's a fact. Also, it has nothing to do with the engine; they made the recoil easier and the player models are bigger (the head is like 72% larger)...

Well, the devs are planning on getting rid of all the CSS assets (sounds, weapon models...) so that people won't need to buy it, any HL2 game (such as HL2: Deathmatch, sold $5 on Steam) would work.
