CSPromod 1.1 due on Sunday

The Beta 1.1 version of CSPromod will be available for download on Sunday, the mod's developing team have announced.

After more than a year without any news, the CSPromod developers released 1.09 last weekend, with the patch being met with mixed reviews from the community.

The new update could mark a milestone in the mod's development as it will include brand new player models and animations, and fix some bugs found in the last version.

Meanwhile, the CSPromod team stressed that they plan on releasing new patches fortnightly and that they are looking for more practical ways for the community to download the upcoming updates.

Stay tuned to HLTV.org for all the latest info about the CSPromod 1.1 patch. You will also be able to find an interview with Alexander Garfield, the head of the project, on our website on Wednesday morning.

Clarification on "1.1" and further beta versions. It seems that some people still don't get what the "1.1" refers to. Okay let me try to make it even clearer then. 1.1 was intended to be a version which would have the new content/assets in them. We had to change some internal plans the last few days so basically, the number for that reference doesn't really mean much anymore and is kind of confusing. We're now going to do quick/smaller updates for CSP so basically we'll get to 1.11/1.12/etc quite fast so that throws off the numbering scheme obviously. TL;DR: 1.10 ISN'T 1.1 1.1 IS what was used to refer to the first playable version of CSP using ONLY custom content. I hope this clears out the confusion. If not, I don't know what to tell you. -ALBA SAID!

Same here :) Guys you all have to try out CSPromod to realize how better than cs:go this game is. Looking forward to get the itw as Alex Garfield announced they found funds to continue its development. Great job guys, continue like that. I would only have changed a little the official maps just like they did for aztec.

Fantastic news! Those who just got into 1.6 before it was aldready dead can continue where they left on , investigating different paths to bombsites with this very origin new game. Great idea to make 1.6 again once it had died, cause this new same exact 1.6 is not counted as 12 years old game anymore and will surely get all the former teams back in business ( Weak minded players are still counted as players ). Hopefully they soon release the full version as soon as possible, otherwise it will remain as pain to read threads considering this matter.

I see... I thought it was because Valve announced they were making a new CS, and had invited "saucers" to try it first. So then certain sections of this community decided to side with CSP in the hope that it would be their saviour all of a sudden. Sorry your excuse doesn't sit right with me.

Saviour? If you mean 1.6 gameplay then YES. And who cares if Valve invited Saucers. The end product was a junk. Thanks to the updates else CS:GO would be uninstalled by everyone except for the people who are ready to accept anything being thrown to them because they have no brain of their own.

I meant, things dont have to match perfectly to make sense. There is vast difference between how CSP is coded and how 1.6 is coded. So there will be minor discrepancies. But hopefully those will be cleared out soon enough.

Gump 1 - 0 Piyush K. I should mention I've played him on GO, Gump, and he was horrible. He's just some deluded nutcase, but that's the same with lots of people on here. It's unfortunate, it really is; because the community could be fantastic if everyone were to get under one title (which of course should be GO, at this point). If users here are going to keep labelling people as "sAucers" as Piyush does (for the record I came from Source, and I'm far better at GO than you are) then this community, and additionally the FPS scene, will be going nowhere.

Could you tell me about those differences in gameplay? Would be really interesting. PS: Not all 1.6 players where negative towards CSP. As I already told you: In Germany it was the opposite: The CSS players flamed CSP while the majority of the 1.6 community were already positive towards CSP years (!) before CS:GO got announced (and I'm one of these people and I can't read your damn "all 1.6 players flamed CSP before CS:GO got announced"-comments anymore because 1.6 players like me supported this project from 2007 till this day).

Gameplay matters, not graphics. Isnt this the reason why 1.6 was so popular? But now since in 2013 graphics is also a factor, we have to move on to CSP to retain 1.6 gameplay. Is it so hard to understand?

IF gameplay matters not graphics? Then why in the fucking reason this so called "developer" team decided to make the same exact game again, with only difference being graphics?

1.6 gameplay is the skeleton idea of the game. The developer team will continue to work on the game and possibly introduce new things in the game(thats what i read somewhere).

people were hating CSS because of it's gameplay and not because of the engine. the only reason why some people blamed the source engine was: every time someone asked why CSS got these terrible gameplay mechanics some idiot told the people that it's the engine's fault and it wouldn't be possible to make a game on the source engine with the great mechanics of 1.6. guess what: a team of unpaid developers just proved the opposite.

Just a little correction. It's going to be 1.10 because quote "Well, this so called “1.1” is what the next step of CSP is going to become: it will include our own weapon models, animations, map assets, sounds, and more...". On a different note I actually like CS:GO (kind of) so I look forward to seeing how this pans out.

Fully agree, CSGO is now an enjoyable and fully playable version for competitive play (who would have thought just a while ago), not perfect but still a solid one in frequent progress. On the other hand, im feeling CS Professional might be something in the end. With lots of ifs and buts before reaching potential succes. Quake Live was the "perfect" Quake game, i really hope this modification will at least be up to par with it, have faith (i have). :)

The chosen version numeration is quite awkward. Is there an actual difference between 1.10 and 1.1? I have the impression that the CSP dev team somehow ended up mentally fixed with the 'heading towards 1.1' idea that they missed that the beta already reached 1.10 which is essentially the same thing. And if further updates increase the version number the 1.1 numeration would make even less sense and way more misleading.

There is a definitely a difference between 'CSP BETA 1.10' and 'CSP 1.1'. The later means a first non-beta release.

Its obvious what they are trying to do lol, they are trying to create some "hype" around the game (which failed miserably)lol and trying to show how "fast" they are working, when in reality these models probably have been done for ages and any sane person would have just put the models in first and then released the mod called 1.09. You telling me after 3 years they were soon keen to release 1.09 they couldn't release it 1 week l later rofl? propaganda 101, once again, just like when they hid their numbers.

at least they don't charge you money and you are able to try it and choose if you want to play it. honestly i regret paying 15e for that crap, and in 2 months the price dropped like 3 times... that's enough to measure the popularity of cs:govno... and they released 1.09 to test it out and see if any bugs show up regarding the gameplay. more content means more possible bugs so why would the release everything in one day and then get overwhelmed by reports, they are a small group of people and there is a limit on how much they can handle. so if the 1.09 test goes smoothly why not then add the rest of the stuff, it's not like you need to dl a 10gb file... also on the csp forums were discussions that some linux server bug was stopping them to release 1.09 earlier and in the meantime there was work done on the models and animations so the dates of the 1.09 and 1.1 release came closer i really can't see how you can't understand that much if you actually did follow the csp forums... ***sorry to the sane people for this wall...

yeah, they waited over a year to release a patch, and two days later they happen to finish the models and animations. You really believe that? You've got to understand how many times these devs have built up hype, released a crap patch, then gone into hiding for years. For over 5 years now they've done this, and have little to show for it. If the game enjoys any success, all they will achieve is further fragmenting the community. I'd rather support CSGO and have Valve developing my game than these inconsistent fools! :D

You said that FourKingAce was simply making assumptions about the development, but anyone who was followed it knows that what he said is true. The Promod development team have been up and down for years now. They should just put their project to rest and get in touch with Valve to share ideas on GO; if they want to help the community.

csp is a much, much better game than cs:go, and they've used maybe 1/1000000000000000000th of the budget for it. if it's successful it will get more players playing; cs:go already failed at that. your logic fails, as well.

a peak of 700 players is not considered success even for an obscure beta like csp. you would think hltv's coverage would steer more players into it with such a (self-proclaimed) high traffic, but it isn't happening and one has to wonder why. the fact that you don't like cs:go doesn't make csp a better game, that's your opinion and yours alone, and i'm almost certain that you had a sudden change of heart about promod as soon as 1.6 started to lose ground as an esport title.

a peak of 50k players cant be considered success, for a game with so much market, money and developers, even source peaked more than that, cs:go failed hard, and theres nothing valve can do to fix this, not even cuting the price, or some days for free like they did.

call of duty sells more than a million copies year in and year out, only 300K play consistently. that's not bad, 30% of the original buyers get hooked. cs:go's release peak was a little over 50K, there's a 25K average peak nowadays. cs:go has managed to keep close to 50% of its original buyers, and evidence shows it'll only increase over time. 30K downloads and a 700 player peak? that's a little over 2% of the people who downloaded this free game considered it was worth enough to keep playing. not to mention 1.6 fanatics love to recall "70K viewers" in their recent finals but less than half have tried out csp. success man, i'm telling ya.

there's no success to be had, even alex garfield stated he has no intentions to have csp compete with cs:go because he knows it's just not a realistic possibility, especially after their disagreement with esea. it's ok if you enjoy being delusional, but you should stop portraying yourself as an immature and ignorant zealot all the while representing this website and having been part of the professional scene of the game. says a lot about what kind of people this community looks up to. then again, you've always been a douche, but it's never late to make a positive change.

Did you just fall from a tree or something? It astonishes me how illogical and biased thinking people have today. Not only regarding this, but everything else in the world. It's just sad. Do you know how to model or animate models for a game? Do you know how to code in C++? Do you know how to use Source SDK? Do you know how to make maps for CS? Now, do you agree that finding people with such knowledge and expertise who ARE WILLING TO WORK FOR FREE is hard? Well then, now you know why models were not finished sooner. As for your question where they've been hiding, well they just made a game from scratch... You see at first it was just a modded version of CS:Source, which made it very limited and required you to have CS:Source to be able to play. So they were basically hiding in their rooms coding a game for us to play for free. So you and all the others like you belittling their work should stop being dicks. You can "support" whatever you want, but if you think that this so called "community" of yours was ever ONE community, it was so because people had no other options than CS1.6. Those who still support only 1.6 gameplay are the only community CS will ever have for life. The rest of you will jump around from game to game as they come out and that is your right. So thanks, but no thanks, I won't play CS:GO. P.S. I know there are idiots on both sides, but Valve does not deserve such respect.

Im working as an character artist lately im rather focusion on animation so ye i know what it takes. And considering that the "new" animation were announced somewhere around 1.05 1.06 its qiuete few years dont u think ? I cant imagine that someone is working few years only on animations. If ye then im rly sad for them. "Valve does not deserve such a respect" Then who does ? CSP team ? After 8 years 8 fucking years, slowest development ever, bullshiting and doing idiots from fans, years ago promising things that never happend. And now theyve released 1.09b and 1.1 in one week. Well thats fucking awesome. All heil fucking CSP team !!! what a fantastic job. So im asking again if not valve deserve respect then who ? Cos obviously it cant be a CSP team. (I knows that they doing everything in their free time etc. they have my respect for that) But saying that CSGO isnt competitive game and that CSP is so much better is just a complete joke from them and it only prooves how fucking riiculous is their team is. aka lets look only on our little small acomplishments and do not look and rather forget about our fucking enourmous disgusting fails what we made.

jeez, my point was they had more work than just models, and organizing people on their free time isn't easy. Models were not in the first plan since they were not allowed to change them while the game was a CSS mod. Valve is a entertainment company trying to earn money, and they have proved time and time again they are nothing more than that. Don't get me wrong their games are great. But that is just their job requirement. I did not question CS:GO's competitiveness in any way of form, hell I think tetris can be competitive. But in the end the question is, do we want competitive games or "esports". No more quake, no more CS 1.6, starcraft was kinda revived by SC2, but for how long... most new players will rather play MOBAs, it's simply simpler, as is CS:GO in respect to CS1.6.

Did you know that they were less than 10 guys working on a game made from scratch as a hobby, right? You should also know that they haven't made even a single cent from their project, so yeah, they're slow, but they have been doing a great job (way better than Valve's fail attempt).

There are also news on CS:O and it doesn't have a dedicated forum either. Therefore news are not actually related to the existence of a specific forum.

Honestly when CSP first came out I was a huge hater, but if this is true and they are releasing another update this soon.. good for them. I hope the 1.6 community can find a game they enjoy and continue to play. I will personally stick with GO because I want to have faith that it will eventually become a good game in its own merit, but I respect the decisions of 1.6 fans who wish to play a game that resembles the game they love. Live long and game on.

The 1.6 community do have a fun game they could play, its called 1.6 ,the casual 1.6ers from 1.6 will never more over to csp lol, why would they? a game with worse game play and just about as ugly. The competitive community from csgo will never move over to csp.(guy asks xzist on strream 10 minutes ago if he had tried csp , xzist laughs it of saying if he wanted to play 1.6 he would play 1.6 not a poorly made version of it. Whats left ? Some members from the competitive 1.6 community who just cant get over the fact that 1.6 is dead competition wise , they are trying hard to have something to cling on to and that's csp for them now that they see 1.6 has no chance.

To let people test obviously? It will give you impression what the game currently feels like, and you've all been dying for 1.09.. So why not? I like the cspromod deagle feeling, it's feeling a lot like 1.6. Some weapons do require more tweaking like colt and ak :)

they're probably trying to pull a classic "let's re-release 1.08 as if it were brand new and then apply over time our stock pile of updates accumulated throughout the past year to make us seem more diligent". these updates better keep up with the hype, otherwise it's gonna be fucking grim for them.

yeah, i choose to be skeptical about certain things. there's no way it took them more than a year to release "1.09" which happens to be identical to 1.08 bar a few bugs only to complete models and animations two days later. if you believe that's a legit claim, then good for you friend.

I really don't understand why there is so much crap being flung around, clearly CSP will appeal too all old Counter-Strike players, I'd agree with FourKingAce that i'd rather sit behind CSGO and a game that has clearly lost it's hype and just decided to "update"/"patch" to late. I'd agree after 7 years of 1.6, i clearly hated CSGO, but like anything it takes time to get used too, also the community doesn't have to be large, the reason why stats are low and all that other bullshit you might state is the fact that there is this massive whiney-bitchy-hating divide in the community. Clear your heads and know that money and sponsor ship is behind CSGO, even someone with downs could figure that out. tldr; The Community divide is killing counter-strike all together / CSGO is where the money is and competitive movement - CSP 5 years to late.

If they start to spend more time developing/improving CSP it'd be the end of GO. I'm playing GO right now, but CSP just need new models (better than GO models) and since they're using the same graphics motor it can be done. So improve textures and models, fix the bugs (which has a lot) and it'd be a great success.

I think the future of CSP will be decided in this update. If the models aren't good it will most likely die, but if the models are great (which I doubt) then it will depend on how they market the game. Let's wait and see. For those who are against CSP, why do you care so much if CSP succeeds and CS:GO fails? I play and support CS:GO but if a better game came along I would play it. It would be nice if the proscene switched as well so we would have a big community with a better game. It's too early to tell if CSP will fail and even tough the odds are against it its failure is not a fact yet.

It's a marketing thing, they got this ready weeks ago and used this "2 updates in 2 weeks" to show us they are on a roll. Remember the "leaked" model? Remember they are americans? :) That being said, it's not a bad thing if the final product of this bullshit strategy it's a good game, mod, whatever the fuck csp is. Olso, lurppis, one 10 years veteran 1.6-er to another, to say "csp is a much, much better game than cs:go" it's just crap and you know it.

1.6 does not have a future, after many years of decline it was dropped, no pro teams are left, there is no reason to believe that any tournament will pick it up again. cspromod may have a future, it's practically free (that's huge) and the graphics are good enough that the average 14 year old will not think "man this game looks bad", whereas with 1.6 kids today are likely not going to undestand why they would give such a dated game a chance. CSP has a chance of attracting new players.

Most of the people who are supporting CSP in this community are not going to play it competitively, they are going to play it for fun, just to enjoy it with their friends. Playing CS 1.6 with the same mindset i.e. Just for fun, is a better option than playing CSP for fun which is more like CS 1.6. ANd those CSP lovers themselves say CS 1.6>CSP And If you are going to play it competitively, then i see a less chance of any tourney of CSP. They need money to succeed which they are lacking at this point. My point is, If u want to play CSP for fun, rather play CS 1.6.

People have played 1.6 for many many years already. Many people are just bored to it, eventought they still like it. They want something new, which still has something that reminds them of the old cs. CSP sure has more future and 1.6 will ever get again. I played 1.6 for 8 years and I think CSP is the next thing. It even feels better than 1.6 because of the new graphichs, enviroment and stuff. BTW, in India it shouldn't matter if you play CSP or CSGO or Sims since the lantournaments and their organizers are worst in the world and they just steal your money. So I don't see why an Indian would care about anything related to competitive cs. You will never have any kind of competitive scene in your country...

stop the fight about csp or cs:go play whatever you want and get fun , personally i will play csp because i find the gameplay better than cs:go, im sure there will be tournaments, leagues, whatever, dunno if with increible pots but i dont care, im not planning live from videogames so , people would stop talk about competitive or no cause except few players noone live from counter-strike

Just to clear everything up: "Hi everyone, We’ve got quite a lot of things to discuss and clear up with you about what the pipeline for CSP going forward is. First of all, the next patch (which we will refer to as BETA 1.10) will be released this Sunday, December 16th, 2012. This update will include the brand new player models and animations (replacing the current ones) as well as pressing bug fixes. We’re also currently looking at ways to make the updating part of our game easier so you won’t have to deal with manual downloads to keep the game up to date. Second, with the next patch being called “BETA 1.10” you’re probably wondering what happened to CSPromod 1.1, announced last year. Well, this so called “1.1” is what the next step of CSP is going to become: it will include our own weapon models, animations, map assets, sounds, and more... We are still working on that and will announce details about it when we are ready. Until then, you can expect CSP to be updated on a regular basis which means you will get smaller patches every other week. Third, we would like to encourage everybody to keep posting on the forum about bugs you encounter or problems you’re having to help us improve your gaming experienced. We mentioned in the previous post on the update page that we’re looking at the respawn bug which is first on the priority list, as well as the unconnected issue that’s breaking the scoreboard. Lastly, we’re working on ways to help the community set up gathers and scrims and help make the process easier for everyone. We will keep you guys updated on that front as well. Thank you for your time."

- I hope they remove the delay for switching to knife. I find it stupid that you have to wait before you can use a fucking knife. - Moving in opposite direction after a jump doesn't completly normalize the recoil, which it does in 1.6 Hope they fix those too :)

So 1.09 release got pushed back to not coincide with the release of CS:GO, several months mind you. But you couldn't push it back a few extra days to actually include something of value? That makes perfect sense.

It does make perfect sense. They are showing the community that they are going to update regularly, which is a LOT better than if they just released 1.09 with nicer models and didn't update again for ages.

...you're saying they should split a patch in two to show they are going to update it more regularly? And that makes sense to you?? They could release these two patches a week apart and then not update the game for another year...it makes no difference if they are split or not LOL

When did I say they should do that? I said, the most likely reason for them releasing the patches split rather than delaying for a week, was to show the community, or at least make it look like, they are updating it regularly.

FYI: The models aren't done yet. There's still some stuff to be fixed till Sunday. And don't forget: CSP doesn't have an auto-updater yet and the upcoming update should fix two major bugs which appeared in 1.09. If there wouldn't be new models the chance of people downloading this patch would be a lot smaller. So combining this bug-fixes with new models is actually pretty clever.

They aren't showing anything but poor decision-making. There's essentially no difference whatsoever between releasing it as one and not updating for ages and releasing it as two, a few days apart, and not updating for ages. When you've been MIA for the past year and a half you would want to show something substantial, something that makes an impact. Not something that was essentially an underwhelming whimper.

Yeah I'm not saying I agree with what they did, I'm just saying that their marketting campaign could have been based around the whole regular updates stuff. Personally I think they should have waited a week for the models before release, as they are one of the most off putting issues to do with the game.

More and more asian cs players are welcoming csp. It's free afterall. We're spreadng the words throughout asia especially SEA players. There aren't many asian players lurking and bitching on how well or bad csp is in HLTV.org. Because many of us were so busy playing and having fun to try out this game. Bitch please, instead of wasting times talking crap about how bad csp is. Enormous asian cs army is currently "studying" this game. Many of us comes of 1.6 background. When big organizer starts to pick csp then we will strive to dominate csp scene. heads up to cspromod.com!

Everyone is laughing at you because in reality most of us didn't really care about those site(s). We have our own "secret" underground communities. We have undergound community from each country that speaks different language and cultures but eventually play gathers in one server. We can easily pm our friends through our own channel of communicatiosn, in forums, ircs and so on. We can easily gathers and finding players. Most europeans or maybe other continents didn't know our way of doing things here. So shut up and stop embarrassing yourself

The words "secret", "underground" and "own channel of communication" (my guess is that these all refer to irc channels, created and widely used in europe) do not mean much unless you are using another client or something that those sites don't pick up. Seriously though, all the best to SEA csp.

CSGO has Valve but CSP has Alex Garfield :D For that reason, I think CSP will make it in the American scene. And I also feel that the Asian scene will be welcoming towards CSP.. But firstly, we need a great marketing and stuff.. Perhaps the developer team needs to set big tournaments and does advertisements on major gaming websites and magazines..

CSP - great copy of CS 1.6 (best FPS game ever) with better graphics -> FOR FREE CS:GO - bad compromise betweeen CS 1.6 and CS:S wierd maps, stupid granade phyciscs, totaly stupid flashes and random shooting under players feets => 100% guaranteed headshot etc.. + 10 EUR price means CSP is the best choice for player like me. Wow. Glad they stuck to their word and hope they continue with updates. Promod is, even with bugs, a better and more competitively well rounded game compared to CS:GO. All you need to do is look at CS:GO results, there is so much random results (Team a beats team c, team c beats to team b, team b beats team a etc.) A lot of the Pros still hate playing CS:GO, and even mOE and all the players he plays with said that they think CS:GO is possibly the worst game ever made, and that they are only playing it because they had to. If this game gets regular updates, there is a chance it will do well, it depends on if the Pros are willing to take a risk and switch to a game they enjoy rather than the one that has guaranteed income. Although, considering NiP are winning everything in GO, i don't see what reason a lot of teams have for not taking a risk lol.

Well i still stand by my first point kid, just there are 2 exceptions. You just have to look at the last few tournaments to see that the results are random. 3 draws for Anexis? a 3 way tie in groups? That shit doesn't happen. It means the low skill cap for the game means all teams are pretty much on the same boring level. NiP and VeryGames are the only 2 teams that are ahead. That could just be because it's new, but either way, a lot of players aren't enjoying the game, which as i said, is my main point.

Lmao what? You're point got debunked well and truly, you look like a moron. "3 draws for Anexis? a 3 way tie in groups? That shit doesn't happen. It means the low skill cap for the game means all teams are pretty much on the same boring level." Just take a look at what you are saying and how stupid it sounds. Please explain to me in detail how that means the skill cap is low. What you're trying to say here is that If team A beat team B , then team B beat team C and Team C beat team A the skill cap is low? So that must mean the whole time in 2011 where sk and esc and navi where trading wins means the same thing....you are a pleb. It's funny because if we use you're logic of csgo being random even though every time when the top 2 teams attend an event they finish first and second .... then 1.6 must have been so fucking random because it wasn't always the same teams at the top and teams beat each other constantly.. random ey. That's not me saying this btw, that's just you're logic. Hey everybody DV just implied that 1.6 was totally random. You really must have a low iq

I just feel sad about csp development ... As the game is; it would take no more than a year for the fortress forever dev team to reach a better result ... I'm not saying they are slow or bad codders; but it seems they take too much time on strange things (maybe they make too much tweaking...). and yeah, source engine is the reason why css is css and cs:go is cs:go ... When you want 1.6 gameplay on source engine; you have to tweak it hardly. But still, i think it should have been a lot faster and i lost my trust in this game years ago. But if it's good; well done. If it's played competitively i'd consider switching. But as today i would just ignore a csp switch possiblity as i don't plan on such randomness. Gl anyway.

Apparently they have just received enough funding to get more employees, and they also have a new development studio, so updates should be a lot faster now.

Yeah but still they took too much. As i've said, free devs did better than them at modding and tweaking the source engine. And even if they are not as good as those devs; they should have made more in 2 years than "this". So my assumption is that they are wasting time on other stuffs... Maybe structural organization problems with not well fixed goals or schedule. Who knows? And even if they hired new pro coders; normaly it takes time to adapt to a new code... But still gl.

There have been numerous reports about weird grenade physics in 1.09. You can just load a local server and throw some grenades using the CVARs below. They should allow you to tweak a lot of grenades' behavior attributes. Please post your best achieved results on our forums. The philosophy behind this is: more results => precision. Thanks. You've clearly not played the game. Movement - different from Source, Recoil - different from Source, Animations & Models - different from Source, Game play - different from Source, Maps - different from Source. Apply these things to 1.6 and oh... welcome to a place outside fairyland.

I've seen a picture of your family and I am convinced you're all serial killers and rape dogs for a living. THAT IS ENOUGH. Graphics are SIMILAR* to Source because they are on the same engine. Movement = NO, not even close to similar. Graphics are not the deciding factor when it comes to similarities in games. It's deluded people like you who go around the web throwing worthless opinions based on nothing. Your dad's face looks similar to my a child molester. hence your dad MUST be a child molester? Edit: I am not sure you read the topic but it says the animations and models will be updated on Sunday, which are more to do with graphics. There you go.

I think you will find they didn't. Realistically, the only team that dominated for an entire year was Na'Vi, and even then, their domination was exciting, with very close finals, not like it is with NiP. I don't want to get it to a huge argument about it, I've said the same stuff a gazzilion times, I'm just pointing out the trend I see. Obviously it's a new game, and within a few more months, it could all be fairly even at the top.

as a 1.6 player for over a decade I can't wait for CSP 1.1 to be released. This game has so much potential with the gameplay being like 95% that of 1.6, basically the same maps with only a few tweaks here & there (especially impressed by those on de_aztec) and the graphics being just up-to-date enough so that reeling in sponsors should be feasible again (since they can advertise & sell their hardware with CSP's graphics, which 1.6 didn't allow for). As soon as this game gets picked up by tournaments & decent prize money is involved I either a) go pro myself or b) get myself a nice, comfy chair & some popcorn, lean back and watch those pros that "only switched because I needed something new & fresh" remigrate to 1.6 (which CSP in its core basically is). I'm not trying to hate on CS:GO - to each their own, but everytime I watch this game (which I only do because of teams like ESC) I can't help but feel like somebody at Valve trolled the whole community on a scale that is beyond comprehension by coming up with this joke of a CS game.

HLTV Crew, you've made a mistake while this patch its called 1.10, not 1.1, 1.1 will be totally different from this version so please fix it up. -Second, with the next patch being called “BETA 1.10” you’re probably wondering what happened to CSPromod 1.1, announced last year. Well, this so called “1.1” is what the next step of CSP is going to become: it will include our own weapon models, animations, map assets, sounds, and more... We are still working on that and will announce details about it when we are ready. Until then, you can expect CSP to be updated on a regular basis which means you will get smaller patches every other week.-

I played cs since 1.3, and I could say that I really enjoyed playing CSPromod, I bought CS:GO and after few weeks my brother told me about changes since first crap versions of CSP and I can say, that after playing few days CSP owned easily CS:GO. Go is prepared to play already but CSP need some fixes, CSP is much better game at the moment, I played FPS over 15 years so I got some comparison. I played for a month in CS:GO so I had time to learn this game. I hope whole CS scene will start playing CSP as it's gonna be really good game.

"...as it will include brand new player models and animations..." that's great, i wanted exactly that. :-) in my personal opinion, Promod has the same right that scored Global Offensive, to be helped by the community to improve over time.

Excellent news, keep the updates coming! I guess some of the pointless csp bitching is about people fearing that counterstrikes position in gaming will drop. Looking at the CS:GO steam stats, concern is valid. Its a major issue for the dev team that so few have embraced the game and rather play 1.6 and/or css. In my opinion valve did the fatal mistake of trying to make everyone happy, to develop a "cs for all" without adding anything new to the game. Something new for me would be a new competitive mode that would build upon the old, making it more complex and opening up for more advanced tactics. The adjustments they made are to small to attract the crowd they so desperatly want and need. Looking at CSP, they face the same issue.. How to embrace the past and at the same time push the development so CSP does not just become 1.6 with nice graphics. I believe the title that manages to push the competitive mode into something more complex and demanding will be the title we play in a near future New competitive modes could bring in new maps, new money system, adjusted weapons/gear etc etc etc...

I was and still am all for csp but realistically its fucked. Theyre like 5 years too late. They needed it to be in great shape when 1.6s peak had just started declining. Css was really a nonfactor in the esports world but unlike css csgo has made 1.6s competitive scene pretty much into nothing.

look at the comments, that was the time when people still had hopes for CSP. these csp guys really had the chance to do something but they probably ruined it.. although, its never 2late
