sl3nd completes move to GamerLegion

GamerLegion have formalized the addition of the Hungarian AWPer, who has been playing with the team for the past month.

GamerLegion have formally unveiled the signing of Henrich "⁠sl3nd⁠" Hevesi on a transfer from Endpoint.

The announcement comes as little surprise considering the AWPer has already been playing with GamerLegion since the beginning of April, after Endpoint revealed he had been sold to another team.

sl3nd now officially replaces Frederik "⁠acoR⁠" Gyldstrand on the roster, bringing an end to the Dane's year-and-a-half-long spell with the team, during which he attended three consecutive Majors and made it to the grand final of one, in Paris last year.

The Hungarian sniper has so far recorded a 1.10 rating over 14 maps on HLTV with GamerLegion with mixed results, as the team could not make it past qualifiers for the Thunderpick World Championship, ESL Challenger Jönköping and Esports World Cup.

Well depends, if he performs well, he will get snatched from GL, if not he probably won't go anywhere. Double edged sword tbh, because this was probably the best option but it's not a desirable one to continue the grind into t1.

he is decent but acor is better, its a slightly downgrade but sl3nd might be one for the future, he might have a high ceiling

he's only 19, so he's got longevity and potential in him And GamerLegion's basically perfect for prospects to be tested in.

I get that but why not keep him on a temp contract instead of fully signing him? If he comes out of the gate in t1 events and is trash then they’re stuck with a contractual obligation to pay his salary even if they bench him in 6 months.

I assume the trial contract was just one month long and at some point you have to sign the guy, otherwise he will look for other opportunities.

Well, thank god it's not up to you whether he's proven enough or not. If that was the case, probably a lot of talent would never ever get a chance to rise and shine. Sometimes, you have to take a risk - and GL takes a risk.

I mean the only thing I would’ve done different was like a longer trial contract so they can see how he performs against t1. His only performance against a top 20 team was vs Monte and he played pretty poorly so I just don’t think signing him on a longer term contract is a good idea. I’m all for testing new guys, Broky, Donk, entirety of Gambit youngsters, etc were all unproven against t1 when they were signed and it worked out very well so definitely don’t want to misconstrue the value in testing unproven players.

acting like GL is some top 10 team that has some serious conditions him going to GL is like going to fnatic, OG etc. predictable and natural step for a prospect coming from t3
