ESL Pro League Season 19PERA relegate makeshift NIP to Last Chance Stage
NIP's Pro League campaign is in jeopardy after they threw a 9-3 lead in the decider against PERA.
PERA have banished Ninjas in Pyjamas' cobbled-together lineup to the Last Chance Stage at ESL Pro League thanks to a 2-1 series victory, grabbing wins on Anubis (13-5) and Ancient (19-17) either side of a loss on Vertigo (8-13).
Ninjas in Pyjamas arrived in Malta with a last-minute stand-in after Fredrik "REZ" Sterner was ruled out through sickness, leading Kacper "xKacpersky" Gabara to be called up the the roster for the team's ESL Pro League campaign.
Already sporting Maoz "BluePho3nix" Paz as a stand-in amidst an ongoing rebuild of the team, Ninjas in Pyjamas have been understandably disjointed and short of form, but regardless a loss to PERA will be disappointing for the squad.
PERA can thank some strong showings from Brajan "DGL" Lemecha and Danil "Porya" Poryadin for their win, but they can also thank Ninjas in Pyjamas' poor CT side on Ancient which squandered a healthy 9-3 halftime lead.
PERA can now look forward to a lower semi-final against BIG as they hunt for a playoff berth, whilst Ninjas in Pyjamas will begin their fight for their tournament lives against BOSS in the Last Chance Stage.
