Cloud9 withdraw from BetBoom Dacha Belgrade

The Russian side says it is still in the process of finalizing the lineup.

Cloud9 have withdrawn from the upcoming BetBoom Dacha Belgrade tournament, set to take place in the Serbian capital from May 14-19.

The team has explained that it is still finalizing the lineup in a comment to the organizers: "We respect our fans and can only participate in events with full dedication. We have decided that we will not participate in the competition until our roster is fully formed."

Cloud9 are currently down to just two players, Kirill "⁠Boombl4⁠" Mikhailov and Sergey "⁠Ax1Le⁠" Rykhtorov. In a series of shock moves, Denis "⁠electroNic⁠" Sharipov left the team for Virtus.pro and the organization went on to bench Ilya "⁠Perfecto⁠" Zalutskiy and Abay "⁠HObbit⁠" Khassenov last month.

Cloud9 were slated to play in Group A of the $500,000 tournament along with MOUZ, Virtus.pro and Falcons. The organizers have yet to announce their replacement.

Should be clax, most obvious choice + played with shalfey on local LANs (if +shalf is true). Overdiva said boombla doesn't like shalfey being in team, especially with his friend. He knows all too well about snake business. That leaves only AWP.

People criticized Astralis for moving on too fast after benching BlameF but they proved to be more serious and decisive than the likes of Cloud9, FURIA, and NIP. Surely a Russian team shouldn't take 3 weeks to sign new players with the abundance of young talent in the CIS region. The sh1ro move makes sense in hindsight, and so does electroNic's. They realized they were wasting time in Cloud9.

With so many red flags surrounding that org I am not half surprised they can't find reputable players who want to sign.
