Complexity set aside Virtus.pro to reach EPL semis
The North American side made light work of VP on their pick of Vertigo.

The first of ESL Pro League Season 19's quarter-final matches has drawn to a close, seeing Complexity emerge victorious over Virtus.pro with a straightforward 2-0 win. This result has booked the North American squad a place in the semi-finals, where they are set to face off against the winner of MOUZ's game against G2.

This result puts an end to the Russian side's campaign in Malta, seeing Denis "electroNic" Sharipov finish in 5-8th place in his debut showing under his new banner.
While Virtus.pro can be pleased with their respectable finish, the new-look squad had a number of hiccups throughout, struggling versus lower-tier opposition like fnatic and GamerLegion while getting thrashed by top opponents such as FaZe and Complexity, giving the team much to improve on ahead of their next outing at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade in the coming week.
"I think we had a good game plan going against them," shared star rifler Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski immediately after the match. "I think that our prep has been really good this match and in the NAVI game."
While Complexity's diligent preparation was certainly evident throughout their dominant run on Vertigo, it was also no doubt a driving force in their hard-fought win on Ancient.
After accruing an early lead on the defense of their opponent's pick of Ancient, Complexity stalled out for much of the rest of the first half, allowing Dzhami "Jame" Ali's troops to claim a 7-5 lead despite an early 1-4 deficit.
Despite the unfortunate run in the latter part of the first half, Complexity shined on the offense with EliGE and Michael "Grim" Wince leading the charge, allowing their team to steal away Ancient 13-9.
Riding the high of snatching Ancient, Complexity continued their run of form on the T-side in this series with a stellar showing on the first half of Vertigo, accruing a 10-2 lead that was capped off with a 2v5 conversion.
With the second pistol round secured shortly thereafter, Virtus.pro were now faced with the daunting prospect of replicating their 2-11 comeback versus The MongolZ from yesterday. This time around, however, the Russian side were denied the opportunity, as Complexity quickly closed things out 13-3 to send Virtus.pro packing from Malta.
