MOUZ qualify for IEM Cologne with EPL title

With their win in Malta, MOUZ have booked a spot in the showpiece event in Germany.

MOUZ's triumph at ESL Pro League secured their attendance at IEM Cologne's main event

Thanks to their trophy-winning campaign at ESL Pro League Season 19, MOUZ have secured an IEM Cologne 2024 group stage berth, where they join FaZe and Spirit on the team list.

MOUZ smother Vitality to win ESL Pro League S19

The $1,000,000 tournament is set to take place August 7-18 and will feature 24 teams in total, eight starting in the group stage of the main event whilst 16 start in the play-in.

FaZe earned a spot in the main event by winning IEM Chengdu, whilst Spirit earned theirs by taking the IEM Katowice title. One more group stage berth will be going to the victor of IEM Dallas later this month.

This quartet of tournament winners will be joined by four teams determined by ESL's world ranking and the top eight teams in the play-in.

MOUZ will be hoping for better luck at this iteration of IEM Cologne after they were dumped out of the group stage in last year's edition, but that group stage exit came just after Kamil "⁠siuhy⁠" Szkaradek and Jimi "⁠Jimpphat⁠" Salo were added to the lineup. Considering their current stature, they will be favored to make a deep run this time around.

Based on what I can tell/remember big events like Cologne revert to invites immediately. While events like EPL may invite the second team from events like ESL Challenger.

Donk can be targeted like Mouz did that one time where they were playing against each other and i belive other teams will try that as well. I'm sure Spirit will go into the semis or final without any issue, but i'm not sure if they will win. I just hope the event will be a banger without one sided games.
