FURIA & Eternal Fire among Skyesports Championship 2024 invitees

Skyesports is aiming to run a $200k tournament in India in July

Tournament organizer Skyesports has announced a $200,000 eight-team LAN tournament named Skyesports Championship 2024, which is set to go down July 23-28 in India.

Four teams have already received invites for the tournament, namely Eternal Fire, The MongolZ, FURIA and BetBoom. Aurora earned a spot by winning the online tournament Skyesports Masters 2024.

A fifth direct invite will be handed out at a later date, whilst the remaining two teams will earn their berth through qualifiers, one in Europe and one in India.

Skyesports Masters to be held online

Skyesports has attempted to host several LAN events in recent history but has repeatedly had to make significant changes to those tournaments. Most recently, Skyesports Masters 2024 was moved online, with the organizers citing the general elections in India as the reason.

Last November, the South Asian tournament organizer indefinitely postponed the Skyesports Championship 5.0 over "foreign political conditions and a little bit of bad luck," and previously moved the Skyesports Souvenir tournament online after it was originally announced as a LAN in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
