IEM Dallas 20249z upset MOUZ in IEM Dallas opener; Liquid demolish Complexity
Zero pistols and only three T rounds on Nuke mean MOUZ drop down to the lower bracket.
The A stream played host to the organizational derby between Liquid and Complexity, where Dust2 was chosen as the battleground.
Liquid have won the map twice against Astralis and Eternal Fire in the online CCT Global Finals and proved much more proficient on the map.
Keith "NAF" Markovic won an early 1vs2 that eventually spiraled into an 8-1 lead for Liquid, and while Complexity were able to post four at the switch after a late resurgence, they didn't do enough to trouble Casper "cadiaN" Møller and company.
Liquid eventually closed out a 13-6 victory after Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken's 4k and will now face off against 9z for a playoff spot at IEM Dallas.

Meanwhile on the B stream, MOUZ met with 9z in what was expected to be a straightforward win for the EPL S19 and BetBoom Dacha champions. That was far from what happened, though, as MOUZ were slow to start on the T side and were simply outshot by 9z early on.
9z then won the second-half pistol to extend the lead to 10-3 before Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin's 1vs3 breathed some life into the European combine, but their luck eventually ran out after a few close-fought round victories. Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek and company now drop down to the lower bracket, where they will face another stern test in Complexity later on Monday.
