Liquid come back to oust Falcons from Dallas

Liquid are just one win away from the playoffs, with perhaps their hardest test yet against one of MOUZ or G2 awaiting them.

Liquid have eliminated Falcons from IEM Dallas after a hard-earned 2-1 win in their Group A lower bracket series.

The Marco "⁠Snappi⁠" Pfeiffer-led side exit the event in 9th-12th place after winning just one in three matches, against a new Monte side, and losing to a G2 team fielding a stand-in as well as the Liquid squad questioning their future with Casper "⁠cadiaN⁠" Møller.

It comes as yet another heavy blow to the team that had been hoping to build on their run at BetBoom Dacha, where they made the playoffs for the first time since IEM Katowice.

Falcons got off to the series against Liquid on the right foot with a straightforward victory on Nuke, but then came on the receiving end of a beatdown from Russel "⁠Twistzz⁠" Van Dulken, who dragged his team kicking and screaming to a decider with a 36-kill performance that nearly wasn't enough.

It came down to Anubis, where Falcons were in the driving seat early with a 6-1 lead on the unfavorable CT side off of clutches from Snappi and Álvaro "⁠SunPayus⁠" García and great output from Pavle "⁠Maden⁠" Bošković.

A Keith "⁠NAF⁠" Markovic quad-kill then kickstarted a four-round recovery on the offense, and Mareks "⁠YEKINDAR⁠" Gaļinskis went on to spearhead a solid Liquid defense to bring the series over the line.

Liquid now move on to the Group A lower bracket final, where they're set to face off against the winner of MOUZ vs. G2 for a spot in the playoffs.

teams actually starting to look more solid. Haters likely never watch their games. Theyre constantly improving. Taking top 10 in 5 months from not even being ranked. The way they were looking in Dallas they should made semis for sure. I really wanted to believe in cadian, but honestly many of his plays and calls resulting in 2 round map losses. Plays of which, if he never did, would've resulted in 2-0 victories for them. Looking forward to seeing what they do after the break, whether it be change 1/2 players, maybe igl roleswitch so cadian can focus more on his terrible awp shots or no change at all. But I get the feeling the chemistry just isnt there for him and the others.

They've been losing for a while now. After failing to secure their originally targeted players, they've been forced to settle for seconds, proceeded to blame BOROS in a published video then benched him, and well...the rest is history. Karma is a bitch and I have to say that they had it coming to them.

I mean they are a team with no Star player and 4 inconsistent players, bar SanPayUs. They didn't get BlameF, nor s1mple when they had the chance, instead picked up another inconsistent player. Zonic went for his friends instead of thinking with his head.

Seeing them lose is actually a pleasure after realizing how toxic the team really is. Who in the world publishes a player diss video in place, where the team atmosphere and synergy matters the most. Even most players know by now, that by going to Falcon they can end up publicly humiliated if the results aren't there.

I don't know if I wish failure upon Falcons, but the whole diss video and also shafting BOROS was just wrong. They should've just benched him quietly without making a whole video dissing him.

Boros was not only kicked because of the mouse. Like c'mon, Monte talked about his attitude, the ex-coach of falcons talked about his shitty attitude. Spunj said he arrived very often late to prac or before matches. The guy acts like a diva. Sure, this team is shit, but Boros is not a victim.

You're right - BOROS is not a victim given his poor attitude. But for a "professional" organization and their players + staff to throw shade at him...in a documented video series that the internet can see - there's just no need to air out your dirty laundry. Certain things should stay behind closed doors and let parties go their separate ways if things don't work out.

Saying it again. Twistzz isnt supposed to be a carry player. He is going to burnout soon. It should be yekinder or skullz. Twistzz and naf are clutch players. They are the ones that have few but high impact rounds.

You don't know that. Twistzz has his roles that he wants. He is playing in a system that he likes, and can perform in. This isn't FaZe; he isn't a 3rd supportive star. skullz is new to t1; its pretty obvious he's not the carry player. yekindar's output is under scrutiny already; NAF is a consistent output player. Maybe Twistzz is better inclined toward being more supportive than carry, but because we remember how he was on FaZe should not be how he is defined in a new team, and in a new system.

The thing is when Liquid is winning, its almost completely Twistzz dominating. I would be ok if twistzz was over performing when other players were performing half descent. But thats not the case.

That's valid which is why it does seem like Twistzz (and NAF to an extent) has to take all the initiative to try and drag liquid out of these games skullz and yekindar need to find some more or they wont be staying

YEKINDAR should be the first one to go. Then skullz and zews if they can't find a good replacement for YEKINDAR and if skullz continues to perform poorly + zews' strats and prep work don't help the team start placing top 3 consistently at LAN events.

Actually i think Twistzz has shown that he can carry and that he is really good as No1 star in the team, he just needs a bit more help, cuz only Nasty Ass NAF is consistent beside him, they need YEKINDAR to perform and not to miss as he is, he was aim god in csgo, but now he is whiffing a lot more, i am YEKINDAR fan and i think he has a lot of potential, but he is not consistent enough, i guess at this tournament he is good, so let's hope he will stay at least in this kind of form, and yes Cadian as an AWP has to deliver a bit more even as an IGL, and Skullz is an role player, supportive Lurker/Anchor so he shouldn't be the one expected to carry

He was always like that. You are talking about one of the best of csgo and cs2. He always had good stats as well as clutches. Twistzz is different because his stats would never show his ingame impact. He would be a pack player until the team really needed someone to step up.

maybe in faze but liquid twistzz in 2019/2018 was absolutely a star player and a great clutcher. I would argue that twistzz and ropz are both like top 15 riflers ever
