Complexity go 2-0 to 2-3 at YaLLa Compass in second consecutive group stage exit

After a deep run at ESL Pro League, Complexity were eliminated early from both IEM Dallas and YaLLa Compass.

Complexity were excellent on day one, then a shadow of themselves on day two

Complexity have had their YaLLa Compass campaign ended early doors at the hands of FURIA thanks to a 9-13 loss on Inferno, sending the North American side home with a 2-3 group stage record.

This comes after Complexity began their campaign in Abu Dhabi in positive fashion, with impressive fortitude granting them a 16-13 overtime victory over Eternal Fire before the American squad utterly outclassed BIG 13-5.

Their 2-0 record had Complexity primed to bag a playoff berth, but three losses in a row to fnatic, BetBoom and now FURIA have ended their campaign early.

The entire squad struggled to find consistent impact across the group stage bar Jonathan "⁠EliGE⁠" Jablonowski, but even the ever-consistent star rifler had a couple of weak showings in their string of losses.

Complexity seemed to be on the up again after their run to a top-four finish at ESL Pro League mere weeks ago, but back-to-back group stage exits between IEM Dallas and YaLLa Compass have brought the team crashing back down to earth.

Complexity on AWP role: "Hopefully, we will have news very soon"

Complexity still have ESL Challenger Jönköping to come before the player break, and their season is in danger of ending on a thoroughly sour note if they were to exit that event early as well.

Are they Eliminated? If Fnc lose to BIG, then Col, Fnc, and Big are all 2-3. How will that work?

By the round differential But Fnatic is at +10, Complexity at -8 and Big at -9 If Fnatic win 4 rounds they are qualified, and if not Big will go through No chance for Complexity to finish above the two

I'm not saying this because of complexity as they're definitely a fraudulent team minus elige and jts calling. But a format where it's all best of one's even with mr12, and then ALSO uses something like round differentials. Is a terrible format straight up.

Bahaha that's a way to word that. It's worth noting I simply neglected to consider the coach, but I would say the coach may not be a problem either. I was mainly referring to the 5 players when saying everything but jts calling and elige are the problems.

They are on a downward trajectory. JT has never been a high level fragger and when you look at when complexity were doing well, JT was overperforming compared to his historical stats. It is fine to have an IGL that isn't putting up stats when you have multiple stars, but complexity only has Elige that can be a top 20 candidate and he hasn't been one since 2021. The team needs a lot of help if they ever want to compete consistently.

I can't tell if you're agreeing with me, or didn't read my comment and are disagreeing with a ghost you made up that certainly isn't me lol. I'm just going to assume hopefully its the first lol. So yeah I agree. Jt was really the main reason they started performing, also elige was peak peak form too but jt with the 1.10 rating as an entry fragger was really carrying. However I still don't consider jt a problem simply because his calling is actually truly pretty sick. Hooxi plays much worse and calls much worse. Aleksib for the last like 4-5 months plays much worse but calls better. I feel jt isn't really a problem. I know you didn't say he is but I just want to make that clear to any readers But yeah him going down from his form he had in the beginning of cs2 is really exposing the fact that they have 3 frauds on the team.

I just don't think you can say that JT is great as an IGL. I would argue that his performance going down shows that his impact in calling is not significant on the teams overall performance. Hooxi has the benefit of having actual stars, which does help, and who knows if JT could show something if working with better talent. It's hard to say really. Both just different approaches to the same issue, which is complexity are not going to consistently perform, and Elige isn't good enough anymore to take over games and get them tournament wins. They will continue to run with this or a similar roster because they have nowhere else to go since there is no talent in NA, at least none that can compete internationally at the moment.

Yeah but when you watch the games of any jt game over the last what atleast 3 years? His executes he calls are always very very good. And the timings and gaps he creates and takes advantage of calling wise are pretty good too. Plus in interviews he articulates his ideas in a way that good igls tend to be able to do and bad igls usually can't do and instead talk about "feel" and "momentum" which do matter but is a worrisome sign when it's the main thing a caller talks about. And then he's also won over the analysts even thorin who wasn't necessarily a believer at first even when I thought he was doing great on cloud9. Then combine those facts with the fact that no player has ever been playing well, joins a jt team, and then performs worse, and no player has ever been playing poorly on a jt team and left, and then played better on another team. Aka i can't think of even one possible red flag of his calling ability. I truly think he's an underrated caller. Not some aleksib mastermind. But i think he's a better caller than apex for example. And I don't hate apex as a caller I just think he has a few flaws and I can't see any flaws in jts calling besides the fact that he's not a micro manager which isn't really a flaw just a preference. I get what you're saying about jts performance as a player being needed for jts calling to win championships is worrisome. However I just would need to see that happen when he doesn't have 2 bots and an unbelievably streaky awper. Not just streaky map to map but also tournament to tournament. As it's not like we have proof jt needs to have a 1.10 for a jt team to perform, we only have proof that he needs that rating for a jt team to perform with 2 bots and an awper who 50 percent of the time is a bot. A top 15 team with 2 bots and a player who half the time is a bot and one top twenty player who isnt even an awper or donk/flamez type of entry , is pretty reasonable even with the best igl in the world in my opinion, especially considering how currently stacked said top 20 is.

totally agree. JT is a fine caller and reads the game pretty good. Ofcourse he aint no aleksi or karrigan but you have to play with what you have available and JT is a good option. Personally, as a very long coL fan (the only team i support) the team just needs more firepower and better players in term of game awareness. Id like to see jks back (idk if he is active in general) and a better entry player.
