FiReLEAGUE 2024 Global Finals set to start

Five Latin American teams and three European teams will fight for the title in Buenos Aires.

The final week of the season is packed with events as top teams are fighting in London at the BLAST Premier Spring Final, the likes of Complexity and The MongolZ travel to Sweden for ESL Challenger Jönköping, and FiReLEAGUE hosts a mix of European and Latin American teams in Argentina.

From a regional final at a LAN center in 2020 to the first Global Final at Camp Nou in 2022, FiReLEAGUE returns to Argentina once again after filling out Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires for a one-day event in 2023.

This Global Final, which was supposed to take place in Barcelona in 2023 but was canceled last minute due to logistical reasons, was moved to Buenos Aires with nearly the same team list.

Only Virtus.pro and SAW are missing from the announced roster last year, as they are currently at the Spring Final in London. RED Canids and Ninjas in Pyjamas are taking their place.

Going off of recent form, some of the teams to watch will no doubt be 9z and Ninjas in Pyjamas. The Latin American squad made the semi-finals at IEM Dallas, while Ninjas in Pyjamas took YaLLa Compass by storm, making it all the way to the final in their LAN debut with the full roster. Coincidentally, the two teams will meet in their opening Group A series.

The eight teams will compete in four-team GSL groups, with best-of-one opening and winners' matches followed by best-of-three elimination and deciders. The top two teams of each group will move to the best-of-three single-bracket playoff.

This time around, the tournament will take place at the Estadio Obras Sanitarias, known as the Temple of Rock due to its long history of hosting local and international musicians. The venue can accommodate upward of 4,500 spectators.
