AMKAL invited to Skyesports Championship

Just two more spots remain unannounced at the Indian event.

Forester's AMKAL will make the flight to India in July

The organizers of Skyesports Championship 2024 have announced that AMKAL have accepted an invitation to the $300,000 event held in Mumbai, India.

The 12-team event is set to be played from July 23-29, and only two more spots are left to be decided via direct invites after the organizer announced the expansion of the tournament at the start of the month.

AMKAL join the likes of The MongolZ, Eternal Fire, and BetBoom, with FURIA, 3DMAX, ENCE, and Aurora also set to compete at the tournament. The team list also includes Revenant and local side True Rippers.

The Russian team has recently lost star AWPer Kaisar "ICY" Faiznurov, with rumors connecting the sniper to a move to Cloud9. The organization previously benched the Kazakh to "determine if there has been any unfair behavior from the player toward the organization" but cut ties with the 19-year-old shortly after.

pretty boring invites. Im gonna be honest man I really dont care about adding more T2.5 EU teams when theres already so many, either get good EU teams or get some other regions present

Like I said if not top EU teams then other regions. I dont care for shit EU team #38 playing vs shit EU team #41 but it would be cool to see more crossregion matches for APAC or the Americas. Would rather see a mid tier NA team than the 20th best EU mix or the 8th best russian team

I disagreed with your original take because I like watching events like these and I have been enjoying following some of these teams the past few years but reading this I understand you're actually cool. Huge +1, always love seeing under-represented regions. Would love to see them invite God's Reign to get a second local spot, an AUS team, and some more Asian teams

Yeah I follow a lot of the NA T2 scene and asia scene. I watch the Chinese tournaments on Douyu and shit, idk why I do this but especially asian cs Ive always enjoyed but I guess I just like the multi region aspect of it among other things. Mostly its just more interesting especially to see teams on lan that you dont usually see, and I wouldnt mind EU invites if I cared about them or if they were interesting, even if its a low lvl EU mix but when its just ENCE again and all these teams we've seen a thousand times that are nothing but boring disappointment I lose interest. I would rather see M80 play against T2 eu teams, see how they do, cause Ive seen them against T1 EU and T2 NA, but now I wanna see T2 EU against them, and especially on lan. Like Aurora has Deko and then nothing else going for them, they keep being invited to these shitty online and low lvl LANs and I dont care to see them anymore I would rather that spot go to a team we dont see on LAN often, or a team that doesnt play these teams often, now its just Aurora matchup #5000 against random EU mix that I also dont care about and its just boring. What does it even add? Whats the point of having more spots open if its just for the exact same tier of team from the same region and they arent even interesting. Maybe if it was TSM it would be cool cause I wanna see the new roster and such

TSM would definitely be a great invite. Would also like to see Nouns if they're willing to invite NA R2 as they have barely missed out on a few qualifiers recently and it would be good to see them on LAN soon. I do feel like these always turn into Aurora, mibr, betboom, furia, and other euro mixes

clueless casual. T2 CS has been so fun to watch. T1 has no dominating teams.

So 1 team dominating a scene is fun to watch?

It's not 1 team dominating a scene. You probably think if someone gets to the final and loses that it's a complete failure.

if you learned to read you would see I actually like T2 CS just not the same teams that get invited to all of these low lvl lans and then do nothing

now they should invite c9 and liquid, so that will make 2 teams without a 4th and 5th (and even 3rd for c9)

I read somewhere that some teams have yet to be paid from the last event. Has that issue been fixed now or do teams just not really care?

So it's fine when governments around the world take more loans before paying off their current ones but suddenly it's a problem if TOs do the same SMH.
