try finds a new home on Imperial

Imperial have announced the signing of Santino "⁠try⁠" Rigal, confirming a report that linked the sniper with a move to the Brazilian organization.

The 19-year-old stepped down from 9z's active roster due to health reasons in October and has been sidelined ever since, despite announcing his desire to return to the server in March.

try replaces Henrique "⁠HEN1⁠" Teles, who was moved to the bench on Monday in a decision that he said "took [him] by surprise."

Imperial announce HEN1 benching

The Brazilian veteran was a part of the active roster for a year and helped them complete an impressive run at PGL Major Copenhagen, making it through the Challengers Stage and earning the team a considerable jump in HLTV world rankings, but results have slipped ever since and the team has now pulled the trigger on the move.

During his stint, HEN1 was Imperial's second-highest-rated player, averaging a 1.15 rating (and somewhat muted 1.05 impact rating) over 238 maps.

try mustered a 1.14 rating (1.12 impact) over 135 maps during his ten-month stint with 9z, but has yet to record an official in Counter-Strike 2 and will have to quell doubts about his form in the new game upon his arrival.

Bro, Furia isn't as rich as you think lol just notice how they only make an impactful hire every 2 years. And as I said they already have FalleN, and try is an AWPer with a lot of potential, but he has zero official pro x pro CS2 matches, even though he's talented, it's a risk

HEN1 has 10x his experience and try is not a significant enough upgrade skill wise to drop HEN1 for imo. try also hasn't played in a team for quite some time, and 9z got significantly better after replacing him for Martinez. I don't like this move but ofc need to give him a chance, hope it works out.

hen1 style of awp is much more positional, he doesnt go for aggressive peaks, and nowadays meta u need to go and find picks as an awper, something try's style of awp will bring to imp. doesnt mean hen1 is worse or better than try.

i think thats what the change is about but people don't seem to understand hen1 is a very passive awper and he isnt the player that can carry the team or win games imperial is hoping that try can be that player when felps inevitably underperforms in big games they need someone to step up and win i hope try is the key to imperial winning something

Imperial wants a more agressive AWP to fit the playstyle of the team. HEN1 is more positional awper, and the team needs more agression in some positions that HEN1 couldnt do.
