biguzera's men will take on 9z in a rematch of their IEM Cologne bout

9z and paiN have claimed victory in their opening Play-in matches at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade Season 2, beating Falcons and BetBoom, respectively, to advance to the upper final of Group A where a spot in the main event is on the line.

It will be a rematch of the teams' meeting just two weeks ago at IEM Cologne, where Rodrigo "biguzera" Bittencourt's side reverse-swept 9z to eliminate them in the lower bracket of Group A. paiN then moved past The MongolZ but fell short of making the playoffs to a red-hot G2.

The Brazilian team's mission to bed João "snow" Vinicius into anchor roles and stabilize after losing Vinicius "n1ssim" Pereira following their Copenhagen Major run continues to bear fruit, with a 2-0 win over Cloud9 in BLAST Fall Showdown while in Serbia for BetBoom Dacha offering an injection of confidence ahead of the team's opening match against BetBoom.

The Russian team got off to a torrid start to the series, going down 4-8 on their Mirage pick and losing it 8-13, with Pavel "S1ren" Ogloblin and Aleksandr "KaiR0N-" Anashkin managing five kills apiece.

The latter had a resurgence in a back-and-forth Vertigo, where BetBoom recovered from a 6-9 deficit to steal the map 13-10, but a 1.79-rated showing from Lucas "nqz" Soares on the Anubis decider proved too much to overcome as paiN eventually closed out the map to take the series.

9z have been in a purple patch of form of their own in recent months, finishing top-four at IEM Dallas, winning FiReLEAGUE Global Finals, and fighting through the Play-in of IEM Cologne before their elimination by paiN.

Maximiliano "max" Gonzalez's troops showed that same form upon arrival in Belgrade, 1.98 and 1.51-rated showings from Antonio "MartinezSa" Martinez and Matias "HUASOPEEK" Ibañez Hernandez powering 9z to a 12-round streak over Falcons to win Mirage, 13-5.

Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer's side were equally as dominant on Dust2, rolling over the South American team on the T side 9-3 before closing 13-7, but couldn't convert a 10-6 lead on the Nuke decider as a fantastic T side from 9z saw them win seven straight to close the series and cast Falcons down to the lower bracket.

Changing mouse when you had a tournament where you played really well. It's a risky move in my opinion. I dont know if it's the same mouse, or if it's a new mouse. Forgetting your in ears. For me, you are totally gone. And you are sitting on fucking Nvidia and changing in the middle of the game. It's fine to have a bad game, but there's just so many circumstances that fucks it up before the game. And the reason im getting angry because i know you're fucking better than that, you showed such improvement, but we fucking need you. And i dont want all this disturbance. If we are losing, we are losing to a better opponent. I dont know when to take it up because we also have an important tournament, but i feel it's fucking necessary. We need to fucking show up and be there. And if there is issues, talk to us. If there is like with your PC, people can help you set it up, but its fucking risky, changing mouse. There is no way.
