DRILLAS, Alter Ego, and GR complete Asia RMR team list

The ohnePixel-backed squad secured the last RMR spot following their win against SIXER's Onyx Ravens.

DRILLAS, GR, and Alter Ego have secured spots at the Asia RMR after winning their respective sub-regions' closed qualifiers.

The trio now completes the team list for the Asia RMR, set to be played in Shanghai, China, from November 11-14. Rare Atom and TALON locked in their spots yesterday, while The MongolZ, FlyQuest, and Lynn Vision received direct invitations due to their Valve ranking.

In the Middle East qualifier, DRILLAS secured the only Asia RMR spot on offer. The squad, supported by German streamer ohnePixel, lost their opening match against JiJieHao, which meant they were thrown into the lower bracket.

They then won five straight best-of-threes, beating Al-Ittihad, Bravado, Superfkrs, and NOM to qualify for the grand final, where they demolished Christophe "⁠SIXER⁠" Xia's Onyx Ravens to secure a shock appearance at the Shanghai Major RMR.

Hansel "⁠BnTeT⁠" Ferdinand's Alter Ego were victorious in the Rest of Asia qualifier, defeating Indian side Gods Reign in the grand final. The side was a cut above the opposition during their five maps of play at the tournament and didn't allow any of their opponents to reach double digits, as they won every map to secure their spot at the RMR.

European import Jane "⁠aidKiT⁠" Apostoloski finished the event with a 1.68 average rating and was by far the highest-rated player, followed by Hyun-Pyo "⁠XigN⁠" Lee (1.45) and Niory's Konstantin "⁠Wadeshot⁠" Mirzayants (1.39).

GR were the winners of the East Asia qualifier, fighting through mostly Mongolian opposition to secure their berth at the Shanghai RMR. The East-Russian team, led by Arkadii "⁠SALO_MUX⁠" Balanda, qualified for the grand final after wins against -72c, Chinggis Warriors, and ATOX, before meeting the latter in a qualification rematch.

ATOX took the lead with a 13-11 win on Anubis, but GR fought back by winning Inferno (13-8) and Dust2 (13-10) to win the East Asia closed qualifier and guarantee themselves a spot at the Asia RMR.
