ESL Pro League Season 20MIBR see off HEROIC in Pro League playoffs
The Brazilians have assured themselves of a minimum top-eight finish in Malta.
MIBR are through to the EPL Season 20 quarter-finals after defeating HEROIC 2-1 in the second round of the playoffs. The Brazilians came back from a map down to beat their opponents after losing Mirage, picking up a hard-fought win on Anubis before cruising on Nuke, the most lopsided of the three maps.
It is the first time since Season 15 that a Brazilian team has been able to reach the quarter-finals of a Pro League tournament.
It has been an impressive run from MIBR, who have only lost one match in Malta so far. They will be looking to continue their momentum against the red-hot M80 in what will be the first-ever match between the two teams.

HEROIC came out guns blazing and raced to a 9-3 lead on the T side of Mirage after keeping their opponents from stringing rounds together.
MIBR refused to go down without a fight and mounted a comeback after the side switch, but their resistance was broken in the 21st round, when they lost a round to only two guns.
Anubis, the second map, played out in almost the same fashion as the first half as HEROIC were in control during large swathes of the first half before MIBR bounced back after the break.
Up 11-9, MIBR comically fumbled a 2vs1 situation against Rasmus "sjuush" Beck, but they kept their cool and quickly put the game to bed.
The Brazilians carried their momentum into Nuke, where Felipe "insani" Yuji posted a 2.35 rating in the first half to power his team to a 9-3 lead. HEROIC found a lifeline after winning the ensuing pistol, but their comeback hopes were dashed in the following round after MIBR won a force-buy.
