Virtus.pro invited to Thunderpick World Championship; on-air team unveiled

There are now only five slots left to fill in the $850,000 tournament.

Virtus.pro are the 11th team confirmed for the event

Virtus.pro have been invited to compete in the 2024 edition of the Thunderpick World Championship, the tournament's organizer has announced, bringing the team count up to 11 for the $850,000 competition.

Currently ranked 11th in the world, Virtus.pro join a team list that also includes teams like Cloud9, BIG, M80 and Falcons. The Russian side, who were last seen competing in ESL Pro League 20, will participate in this tournament right after returning home from IEM Rio.

Scheduled for October 21-26, the Thunderpick World Championship will begin with a double-elimination group stage featuring four groups of four teams.

The top two teams from each group will progress to the single-elimination playoffs, with the semi-finals and the grand final taking place at LVL in Berlin.

Tickets will go on sale on October 1 at 15:00 on LVL's official website.
