Imperial receive a last-minute invitation to Rio

Rare Atom will miss IEM Rio because of visa issues, ESL has announced, with Imperial invited to fill the vacancy in the 16-team Brazilian tournament, scheduled for October 7-13.

Rare Atom had secured a spot at IEM Rio after winning the Asia Closed qualifier, beating TYLOO 2-1 in the grand final after coming through the lower bracket.

The news comes as a bitter blow for the Chinese side, who were looking to get much-needed international experience ahead of the Asia RMR.

Imperial will take Rare Atom's place in Group A, putting them on a collision course with the No1-ranked Natus Vincere in the opening round.

Malaysians don't need a visa to enter brazil, kaze is not the issue. BRICS play no part on visas too, the thing about the Chinese being denied visas is that it's not something usual because getting visas in brazil is easy and straightforward, especially considering esports athletes are oficially recognized and they have a easier than average entry on the country. Everything points at the org failing to do the proper paperwork
