The Mongolian player reunites with XigN ahead of the event in Shanghai.

dobu will play for Alter Ego at the Asia RMR

Alter Ego have signed Gan-Erdene "⁠dobu⁠" Batbold on a short-term loan from ATOX, the Indonesian organization announced on Friday. The 25-year-old Mongolian will step into Andre "⁠WasteOfAmmo⁠" Yosua Poluakan's shoes at the Asia RMR next month.

Alter Ego came through the Asia closed qualifier unscathed, beating Dewa United, Niory and Gods Reign (twice) without dropping a single map to punch their ticket to the event in China.

ATOX failed to qualify for the RMR after finishing runners-up to GR in the East Asia Closed Qualifier. Currently ranked 38th in the world, the Mongolian team is in the market for a new player after benching Tuvshintugs "⁠Annihilation⁠" Nyamdorj.

On Alter Ego, dobu will reunite with Hyun-Pyo "⁠XigN⁠" Lee after the pair played together on NKT in 2022. dobu left the team in December of that year, when the organization signed Hansel "⁠BnTeT⁠" Ferdinand - who is now playing for Alter Ego - and current The MongolZ star Azbayar "⁠Senzu⁠" Munkhbold.

Meanwhile, Alter Ego have unveiled Rafael "⁠FeldmaN⁠" Barroso as the team's new analyst. A former Counter-Strike pro, the Spaniard had been out of a job since leaving Falcons in February.

With dobu's arrival, Alter Ego will attend the Asia RMR with:

This is honestly super hype, they are getting an analyst, a bootcamp and even kicked wasteofammo for a massive upgrade, I genuinely didnt expect this. I cant explain how much I hope they make the major, especially for Bntet and Xign. Most people dont care too much about asian CS but an east asian team making the major would be so massive, xign has said this is his last year competing because of military and bntet wont have many chances left. Theres not a single team im rooting for more at any of the RMRs, didnt expect the org to put in effort and even kick an indonesian player but its awesome theyre serious about this, best of luck

Its definitely possible, dobu is a massive upgrade, I obviously feel bad for wasteofammo but he was their worst player by a large margin, I think a 3rd place is very possible but im not gonna get my hype up too much

The favorites for the Asia RMR are probably Mongolz, Alter Ego and Drillas at this point teams like Talon look awful in CCT and Lynn Vision is just Z4kr trying his hardest to play 1v5 every game Drillas and Alter Ego look like actual teams that can take maps in the major and thats what they need if they want to not lose spots before Dallas

They're known for choking and lack experience against mainline Asian teams so I don't rate them highly against Mongolz who always beat them or Drillas who are making playoffs in lower tier tournaments or the Chinese team (cnt remember who won their qual) since they lost to a CHN team last time only 3 can qualify and only Mongolz is certain I think Flyquest would lose to Drillas or Alter Ego in a 3rd seed match tbh

TALON, and RA start bootcamping in EU Mongolz 90% go through Even tho Flyquest is the infamous choker, but they rarely choke on Asia RMR close qual Alter Ego was mix bag team because they can win against many good asian team but also lose to chinese 5ewin mix. GR will surely want that juicy odds and start activating the radar Drillas will had toughest ASIA RMR road in the history

I don't watch much RA or much CHN CS but I know enough that they're top 2 and that CHN is good on their best day and should compete for 1st/2nd seed I just forgot the Chinese teams existed in my original post for some reason I watch CCT sometimes and Talon just suck against really bad EU teams and Flyquest aren't that much better either so no real faith in the Oceanics It does feel like the power levels is Mongolz > RA > Drillas=AE=LVG > Oceanics > GR
