B8 fail to lift RMR curse as Astralis come from behind to win 2-1

The Danes were two rounds from elimination before mounting a comeback on the CT side of Nuke.

B8 have been eliminated from their third RMR, this time 0-3, as not even the additions of Andrii "⁠npl⁠" Kukharskyi and Daniil "⁠headtr1ck⁠" Valitov could provide the boost to make it past the LAN qualifier. In the past, B8 had been competitive in the pursuit of their maiden Major qualification, recording at least two victories before bowing out.

A struggling Astralis, without star AWPer Nicolai "⁠device⁠" Reedtz present, was at the end of the road this time. The Danish organization is in search of its first appearance at a Major since PGL Antwerp in 2022.

The tale of the match was one of uninspired T sides. The most rounds any team got on the attack was five, in the first half of the first map, B8's Mirage pick, which the Ukrainians won after keeping Astralis to just four on the attack in a close 13-11.

Nuke was equally close, as it also went the distance, but it was a disaster for B8. The squad led by npl was ahead 11-4 after a solid CT side and winning the first three rounds on the attack, but failed tally a single point as Astralis rallied with a nine-round streak to take it 13-11.

B8's T side was equally ineffective on Ancient, where Astralis hit double digits at the half, and although the Danes struggled losing seven out of their first rounds on the attack, they finally broke through to close it out 13-8.
