Final Shanghai Opening Stage matchups set

The last Elimination Stage berths are up for grabs.

Complexity are seeking to complete their recovery from an 0-2 start

The third day of play in the Opening Stage of Perfect World Shanghai Major has drawn to a close, with the fates of six more teams having been decided. FURIA, paiN and GamerLegion all secured spots in the next stage, whilst Rare Atom, Cloud9 and Virtus.pro were sent home.

On the final day of play in the Opening Stage,# there are three more spots in the next stage up for grabs. Six teams are left in the running, with some fascinating matchups set to be played.

BIG will take on Complexity to kick off proceedings, pitting the relatively unfavored Germans against one of the pre-stage favorites. Complexity have grown into the tournament with each game whilst BIG were just relatively handily beaten by FURIA, so it would seem the North American side have momentum in their favor.

Then MIBR will face FlyQuest in a matchup that we have not seen before, providing a unique flavor to the day's play. MIBR have perhaps underperformed thus far in the Major, but considering FlyQuest's collapse from a 2-0 start, it's anyone's series.

Wildcard and Passion UA will close the day in a matchup that guarantees an underdog side will make the next stage. Wildcard handily dispatched of Virtus.pro and ran FURIA and Liquid close in previous games, and so seem to be in good form, whilst Passion UA are fresh from a tough loss to GamerLegion.
