Virtus.pro endured a disappointing season following the signing of electroNic

Virtus.pro's CEO, Nikolai Petrossian, has released a statement on Telegram following the conclusion of his team's ill-fated campaign at Perfect World Shanghai Major. The Russian side exited the Opening Stage with a 1-3 record following losses to Wildcard, BIG and MIBR.

In this statement he detailed his thoughts on the team's run at the Major, as well as briefly outlining the organization's plans for the future.

Petrossian began by stating is opinion that Virtus.pro's finish was not a result to be proud of. "Reaching the CS2 Major for an organization of our calibre can be considered the minimum goal," he began.

Wildcard end Virtus.pro's Shanghai Major

"But, to be honest, at a certain point, success at RMR no longer seemed guaranteed. We managed to partially correct the situation and still qualify for the Major. Unfortunately, the minimum program for Virtus.pro turned out to be the maximum result in the current reality. This is not a result that anyone in VP can be proud of."

He briefly mentioned a "virus the players caught in Shanghai," but said that he "didn't want to look for excuses," before going on to praise his players for the work they did during their bootcamp.

The guys showed professionalism, but this was only enough to reach the Opening Stage

The statement concluded by saying that, whilst people should not believe all the transfer rumours that will start appearing, the team was ready to make changes should they be needed.

BIG have only just started to knock on the T1 door again, for a while they really fell off, and even now I still think they have a lot of work to do to make it back. Wildcard have exceeded expectations, BIG are on track for their expectations so I'd say they are pretty evenly matched

He spends lots of money on the team, I'm pretty sure he is about results and progress. Electronic singing looked good on paper. He is individually stronger than Mir and he was supposed to add pace into Jame's structure as everyone was saying slow tactics do not work in CS2. No one knew it will make them even worse. And even after spending so much money and not getting the results he is still enthusiastic about the team and ready to invest. I honestly thought he would drop the roster and sign some youngsters for free. I think VP is in good hands

I feel like it is more of VP in CS2 is not being themselves rather than Jame's tactics empowered by electronic not working. If they had stronger pieces it could be monstrous roster but they lack that certain edge a player that could bail them out, elec is not anymore a guy that would be able to carry them into playoffs, he seems to be just star that is perfect support does his job well individually and tactically but not over the edge. They need a young star that shines bright

VP management can be everything but naive, the roster still has a really good base, but feels like they haven't gotten used to CS2 yet, making a change would make sense but benching the whole roster is idiotic, since then you'd have to explore the market and gamble to get a competitive team like Falcons is doing as of now, so I get his point of still being enthusiastic expecting improvements. For the mean time they have a decent squad that in a good day they could beat anyone, just need to find consistency or the missing piece to make them the feared team they used to be.

VP have to make a decision as to whether or not they are going to commit to the Jame system or if it's time to move on. It's had horrible results in CS2, but I can't help but feel that Jame still has it in the tank to correct the ship eventually. If they decide to move on, they can easily replace Jame with a CIS AWPer, there are plenty of them out there that could put up Jame numbers or better. As for IGLing, they could always give electroNic a shot, although I'd rather them sign a legitimate IGL.

n0rb3r7 has like the best utility out of all pros, Jame has very high success% on the awp, electronic has the brains. Buuut Fame has 39 firepower in last 6 months, fl1t 51. Either they need more firepower or fl1t and fame need to start hitting heads. -vertigo +train or something like that and VP are a top10 team again tbh
