TSM bench Danish lineup

TSM say they are "evaluating [their] next roster moves ahead of 2025."

valde only had six months leading the Danish lineup before the plug was pulled

TSM have ended their Danish project, the American organization has announced.

While William "sirah" Kjærsgaard , Frederik "acoR" Gyldstrand, and Rasmus "Zyphon" Nordfoss remain on the bench, Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså, Allan "Rejin" Petersen, and Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen have had their contracts terminated.

The women's project, TSM Impact, ended on December 3 and the men's team has now followed.

But TSM have not closed the door on a roster for 2025, saying they are "evaluating their next roster moves" ahead of the new year.

acoR benched on TSM due to "budget reasons"*

"Our ultimate goal was to build a team ready to compete by 2025," Rejin said on X. "And while we gave it our all to secure the players we had our eyes on, we ultimately fell short."

TSM currently sit at No. 57 on the Valve ranking and thus were not in line to any invites to tier one events in 2025.

TSM's original plan to sign blameF and k0nfig was scuppered

The Danish lineup was TSM's second attempt at a competitive lineup after they originally re-entered CS with a lineup helmed by Rémy "XTQZZZ" Quoniam in August 2023.

That squad, with valde, Audric "JACKZ" Jug, and Cai "CYPHER" Watson, never really got going after XTQZZZ left for Vitality just three months in, and roster changes were aplenty before the lineup went full Danish in July 2024.

The plan for the rebuild centered around Benjamin "blameF" Bremer and Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke, but the new project had to settle for niko and Alexander "Altekz" Givskov (who was later replaced by sirah) instead.

The Danes did qualify for the RMR, a result already above expectations, but ended it with a 1-3 record and just one win, over PARIVISION, in what has proved to be their solitary LAN together.

The following members have been affected:

Denmark Frederik "acoR" Gyldstrand (benched)
Denmark Rasmus "Zyphon" Nordfoss (benched)
Denmark William "sirah" Kjærsgaard (benched)

Denmark Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså (released)
Denmark Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen (released)
Denmark Allan "Rejin" Petersen (released)

CIS is a hard scene to enter tho. There are so many orgs already, many of them are bookies with no money issues who also put insane buyouts on their players. Many cis teams also have academies that attract good players, put them in a contract jail to leave them hoping for a promotion. Yes there's a ton of talent, but no good IGLs or coaches to utilize all that firepower. You can get a decent fanbase but that's about it for the advantages. Tsm are struggling with money also and look at c9. They're one of the richest orgs, they have legends of ru scene like boombl4 and ax1le, yet they struggled to even find 3 players to the point they had to sign fucking interz

This tells more about your abilities than the absence of talents. Navi signed a bunch of nobodies for cheap into their jr roster and had made them into a decent t2 roster over the course of six months

1. I didn't mention anything about absence of talents 2. Navi junior aren't anywhere near t2, reaching challenger doesn't automatically make you a t2 team 3. Navi junior is an international roster 4. Navi junior are meant to develop talents, I assume an org like TSM wants results 5. Flag. Flair. Meds

TSM could totally pick up some youngsters tho. If they were able to get sirah theyre for sure able to buyout some players from teams like DMS, cybershoke or even academy squads

1. You said that entering the scene is hard - it's not unless you want to go for proven talent. 2. Sure thing, proves that you haven't seen their games. 3. It's the same in cis or on the international scene, point number one stands. 4. An org like tsm should be able to understand that you can't be cheap in terms of a budget and at the same time aim for easy results at t1 scene. Knowing your place is essential, the way they operate it seems like their goal is sticker money + occasional lan appearances, that's it

I believe it is a bit more complex than just signing a bunch of nobodies -Na'Vi is a pretty big CS organization, so they have analysts, talent scouts, and coaches working behind the scenes -Na'Vi is also based in Europe, so it is easier for both players and the behind the scenes theme -Na'Vi junior has existed for at least 4-5 years, so they have a talent pipeline/systems in place. And in particular, they have Blad3 (possibly the best talent scout in the whole scene). -Na'Vi junior doesn't have the same pressures as other T2 have. They do not need to qualify for the major, they have their stable paycheck, they only need to show some results and development. They do not have to save strats for the RMR, so they can show them in, say, Hellcase Unfortunately, this isn't 2017, you can't just sign five guys and a coach and think you will win everything. This is why C9 was very happy to buy the package deal (players, coach and ex-manager, manager, analysts) from Gambit in 2022. And even then C9 is still kind of struggling, considering the org is NA-based, and the team is stationed in Serbia. Falcons also failed, and they have pretty much unlimited money. TSM does not and is scraping for cash. They sold their League of Legends spot. Their FTX sponsor got bankrupt, and they don't exactly have the best reputation in the esports world. Which makes things all the more difficult for them. edit: typos

It's complex but that's their job, set a goal and work towards it. And you are right, yuo won't win everything with a bunch of nobodies but if done correctly you may get a sustainable bunch of nobodies capable of winning some tournaments and best case scenario getting to the major. Or you gotta pay big money, and still no guarantees as no one is presenting you anything - you need to use your head and assemble a good roster. I'm an NBA fan, and I understand and overlook these processes on a regular basis

Current NaVi jr is not even CIS (and I mean it in CS terms, of course), so I suspect you are talking about the very first one, with b1t, m0nesy, fear, etc. It was before bookie orgs and academies, In fact, NaVi were the first to open such an academy in CIS and held long scouting process. And because it was a chance at joining NaVi, at the time all other lower tier team had troubles because of it, all the young and possibly promising players rejected any offers simply for the chance of making it through those tests. Probably was the worst time for tier-2 orgs that existed back then, because the whole talent pool just goes "Nah, I want to try to get in NaVi jr instead of your tier-2 org". And if you are talking about current NaVi Jr, then again, they are a eastearn european team for sure, but Krabeni and makazze being in the roster tells me they are likely speaking english in there. Like, what even is there available for free? Trying to risk it on some faceit mirage prodigies or signing, like, Team Space with some tweaks (can't even do that now since they have disbanded and Truniq got signed. ex-GR then and make them bootcamp in EU a lot? Or Nuclear TigeRES)?

I was talking about the current one. Well, if you don't want or have money to pay for a proven talent then yes, you have to go through faceit leaderboards, t2-4 teams and look for that gold hidden in the sand. No one is gonna present tsm a roster. Also, having a cis roster isn't the emphasis in my comment, I think that you can assemble some in every region.

It's just that you answered specifically to a comment about CIS scene, that's all. And sure, you can try going around and "saving" players, but looking at stats only, especially on faceit, since it's kinda the only relevant metric that can be seen there, will give a disfunctional team with a lot of role clashes and close to none spacemakers. For supporting roles some kind of scouting and/or training needs to be done other than try to bring in top faceit players who all want to be a star.

Even if we consider only cis cs scene and relatively unknown players, there's pua, nemiga, spirit ac, aurora yb, hell even buster's gun5 has been pretty strong in t2-3 lately

Most of those players have some kind of history though, except for maybe academies but that's kind of the point, to train those guys into a players fit to be playing professionally. That history can be mixes, local LANs, just showing themselves in a good light when they get to play with pros in some faceit match maybe, preferably several times so your names goes around. And TSM not having CIS representatives will make scouting hard, a lot of the times it's a word of mouth of other players or going around local LANs watching games. For PUA specifically, considering Kane is involved, I wouldn't be surprised if those guys tried to go into original NaVi Junior or NaVi Youth but failed back then. As for Gun5, getting 2 Forze players and 1 Amkal player (in the latest iteration), you would hope they would be decent for t2-3.
