fnatic are set to undergo at least a double change in this off-season.

Alexandre "⁠bodyy⁠" Pianaro has been benched from fnatic, the British organization announced on Thursday.

The Frenchman had been the team's in-game leader for a little over a year, joining in November 2023 as a replacement for Christopher "⁠dexter⁠" Nong. In that time fnatic's biggest achievement was second place at FiReLEAGUE 2024 Global Finals and qualification for the Perfect World Shanghai Major.

Despite two changes during the year and the addition of star rifler Benjamin "⁠blameF⁠" Bremer, they continued their struggle to perform at the biggest events. They only attended three big events in 2024, two ESL Pro League seasons that they were invited to as an ESL partner and the Shanghai Major, placing 21st-28th twice and last in the Major's Opening Stage.

fnatic were quick to address the season following the Shanghai exit, with CGO Patrik "⁠cArn⁠" Sättermon admitting more changes were necessary in the immediate aftermath. "We are coming to an end station now in the current shape and form of our structure," he said on December 6.

The organization responded with the removal of coach Jamie "⁠keita⁠" Hall, and in-game leader bodyy now follows out of the door. fnatic have yet to announce the new additions, with cArn only hinting the organization was scouring the lower echelons for possible replacements.

"There's a lot of exciting talent out there, so hopefully we can build something stronger and something that scales over time," the chief said last month, weeks before rumors suggested fnatic were interested in Passion UA's zealous captain, Rodion "⁠fear⁠" Smyk, who led the Ukrainian side to a surprise appearance at the Perfect World Shanghai Major.
