volt is benched as GL look to add a more active rifler

GamerLegion have announced that Sebastian "⁠volt⁠" Maloș has been moved to the bench. This means the international team will undergo a second change this off-season after Oldřich "⁠PR⁠" Nový was signed from MOUZ NXT to replace Timur "⁠FL4MUS⁠" Marev.

Sources told HLTV that the German organization is in the final stages of negotiating a deal with Ninjas in Pyjamas for Fredrik "⁠REZ⁠" Sterner, as first reported by Sheep Esports. The Swedish rifler has been placed on the transfer list by NIP, who are reportedly signing four new players as part of an off-season overhaul.

volt has been with GamerLegion since July 2023, when he was signed from Into the Breach after both teams' historic runs to the BLAST.tv Paris Major playoffs. He averaged a 1.00 rating during his time on the roster, making his final appearance for GamerLegion at the Shanghai Major, where the team finished in 12th-14th place.

GamerLegion head coach Ashley "⁠ash⁠" Battye explained that role issues were behind the move as the team struggled with having "too many supportive pieces."

"volt is a fantastic player and one of the best teammates I've ever worked with. I'm sure he will find himself on a top team very soon, as he has proven himself multiple times to have what it takes to play tier 1 Counter-Strike. We wish him all the best and he will be missed by everyone."

GamerLegion are expected to finalize their roster soon as the team will make its first appearance of the season next week, in BLAST Bounty Season 1.

rez was putting good numbers in a difunctional nip team. Expect a new brollan case. Sad that device wasted that lineup with prime rez, brollan and hampus. They had a good chance to win a major with device in lineup.

I'd rather have a -IQ player like rigoN to replace volt cause rigoN is a guy who's braindead but he will swing out if you let him and it might just work don't ask how it just will and you get that playmaker you wanted since per ash they had too many support pieces

I believe he's gonna use Rez as a supportive, experienced player. REZ most likely past being a star, but having a supportive player who is comfortable in big games, taking risks, and even having some decent skills to clutch, is a great asset to any team.

He already was the playmaker with Snax in the acoR, isak and Keoz GL like genuinely he was their brightest point at the time so why get REZ if you already have one of the most versatile players in your god damned roster? I'll restart what I said. REZ is experienced and calm, and has star potential. Rez may be a shadow of himself, but even that is better than volt. In theory, Rez won't need to be the star of this team. Now ik people like Rigon because he's selfless, but he makes so many crucial mistake in important situations. Rigon was singlehandedly losing BIG rounds throughout the major (And yes, I know Big had many other problems) Rigon is not a player that will perform in an underdog run, REZ 100% has the potential to. I wouldn't have gotten Rez, but I bet Ash has a plan.

Makes sense to go with Tauson over volt considering his young age, especially since volt hasn’t really shown a high ceiling during his career. While REZ hasn’t been good for some time, he could thrive under new management with a new team and reinvigorate his career. With some luck they might reach playoffs next major.
