Top 20 players of 2024: Down to the last three

The Player of the Year and order of the top three contenders will be unveiled as part of the HLTV Awards on Saturday.

Since December 25, every day HLTV has released one name to make it to 2024's ranking of Top 20 players by 1xBet and SkinClub.

After 17 days and 17 announcements, all that remains is the grand finale of the award season. That will take place on Saturday at the HLTV Awards in Belgrade, Serbia, where a plethora of accolades will be unveiled.

After the Community Awards, Panel Awards and other HLTV Awards, the show will conclude with the announcement of the winner of the coveted Player of the Year award.

It's safe to say that has been in the hottest contention ever in 2024, between three players: Danil "⁠donk⁠" Kryshkovets, Ilya "⁠m0NESY⁠" Osipov and Mathieu "⁠ZywOo⁠" Herbaut. Each left an astounding year behind them, one that on its own might have been enough for the title in another universe, but there can only be one winner.

Kinda pointless to hold an award show when everyone knows who will win. There's no surprise, no suspense, it's rarely been as clean cut as this year. No shade to him, he deserves the title, it just would have been nice if there was any room for speculation left. I mean, it's nice to give him the spotlight, but I'm sure m0e already knows how good he is.

That's very false, before the shanghai major everyone said donk was out of the top 2, let alone top 1 run, and the only way he could still get #1 was if he won major and got mvp. Which he unbelievably did, insane performance from them. But to saying it has never been as clean cut as this year is just straight up wrong considering he was out of the race b4 the major lol
