Spirit have taken down Natus Vincere 2-0 in the second semi-final of the BLAST Bounty Season 1 Finals, coming out on top after a chaotic map of Ancient that concluded in triple overtime.

This win sets Spirit up for a best-of-five grand final against Eternal Fire, who shocked G2 earlier in the day to reach the final of the Danish event.

Danil "⁠donk⁠" Kryshkovets was the star of the show on his 18th birthday, topping the charts on the first map of Dust2 with a stellar 1.91 rating while also finding impact in regulation and in the third overtime of Ancient.

The lack of Spirit coach Sergey "⁠hally⁠" Shavaev, who missed the event due to health issues, was sorely felt by the Russian team during the triple-overtime brawl on Ancient. "It was hard, we changed a lot of rounds through Ancient to not let them understand what we're doing," Myroslav "⁠zont1x⁠" Plakhotia told James "⁠BanKs⁠" Banks in a post-match interview.

"Everyone is helping [chopper], donk is saying something, I am saying something, sh1ro is saying something," the Ukrainian rifler added. "This is what makes the team great, because not one player cannot see everything on the map."

The semi-final kicked off on Spirit's pick of Dust2, where Leonid "⁠chopper⁠" Vishnyakov's men quickly racked up a sizable lead after recovering from a pistol-round ace from Mihai "⁠iM⁠" Ivan. Down 4-10, Natus Vincere began to piece together a comeback on the offense, but Spirit eventually quelled their efforts to lock down the map 13-9 thanks to a stunning performance from donk.

Natus Vincere's pick of Ancient went back and forth across the first few rounds, with Spirit eventually laying claim to a narrow 7-5 lead. Spirit extended this lead in the second half, but Natus Vincere rallied to force overtime on their map pick.

Natus Vincere managed to accrue four map points across the first two overtimes, but struggled to close out Ancient, leading to the need for a third overtime. Once in triple overtime, Spirit needed all six rounds to get across the line, finally finishing off the series 2-0 with a 22-20 win on Ancient.

Is that badly lost? 13 9 on spirit’s pick and 22 20 on navi’s pick. Given navi ended the year with a down period and spirit with the major win i wouldnt say it is a bad loss like at all really

True but to be honest, coaches have the biggest impact outside of the server. They create the strats together with their analysts and IGLs. The Coach not being there mostly only has a mental impact on the players, which can be controlled by, well, a good mental

i dont think so tbh, a lot of the work done by the coach is off server and if donk locks in he just shreds opponents. spirit now knows how to play around him to make him succeed. top 4 at blast and losing to major winners is not a bad showing at all

The top 16 teams per the VRS were assigned a bounty from $15,000 to $60,000 BLAST Bounty will have $500,000 on the line, in addition to $650,000 in participation fees. Because of the tournament's unique format, the amount of money won by the teams will depend on the bounties claimed throughout the tournament. To make things easier, BLAST created a bounty simulator for fans to keep track of how much money each team has claimed throughout the event. blast.tv/cs/bounty-simulator I think teams can add a wager from their total bounty as well
