Arbalet Cup Best of Four final stats recap

After roughly ten hours of CS per day for three days in a row, the Arbalet Cup Best of Four has now finished, with Natus Vincere crowned as winners, and their star player Ioann "Edward" Sukhariev awarded the Best Player. Let's see what it all looked like in numbers.

The early matchup today saw SK and UNiTED take on each other, where SK came out winning four maps and losing one. That brought them to 26 points total which, as it turned out to be, wasn't enough for first place, but was enough for second. UNiTED finished last with only three map wins in 15 attempts, but still, they put up a good fight against some of the world's best teams.

The second matchup was going to decide the winner of the tournament, and it did so already after the first map when Na´Vi won against fnatic 24-6 on de_tuscan. This left the other 4 maps to be played for prestige only. The Swedes took three of them, lost one, and finished at 3rd place with 22 points, while Na´Vi had 31.

Natus Vincere demonstrated great play throughout the event, and ended up as the only team with more kills than deaths, so it is no surprise that they are the top rated team. SK played very good against UNiTED today and managed to improve their rating c ompared to previous days, climbing up to second place, while fnatic are a close third.

The Ukrainians are establishing themselves as the best pistol round team in the world, as they have, after winning 70% of pistol rounds at IEM4 World Finals, managed to win 67% at this event.

Team stats
# Team W D L RW  RL RW% Rating
1. Ukraine Na´Vi 10 1 4 266 184 59% 1.12
2. Sweden SK 8 2 5 228 222 51% 0.98
3. Sweden fnatic 7 1 7 218 232 48% 0.95
4. Russia UNiTED 3 0 12 188 262 42% 0.87

Only Na´Vi and SK managed to stay undefeated at certain maps. It were de_tuscan and de_inferno in case of the Ukrainians, and de_train for the Swedes. Na´Vi's de_tuscan was clearly on a level above everyone else's, which is also demonstrated by the fact that they won an incredible 92% of rounds after getting the first kill on that map. They also had the best success on a map after being killed first, winning 41% of such rounds on de_inferno.

Player stats

The official awards for players have been given out, and Na´Vi's Ioann "Edward" Sukhariev received the most important one, for the Best Player of the tournament. His two teammates Yegor "markeloff" Markelov and Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko wouldn't have been the wrong choice either, as they were all separated by a only a few kills.

We have Markelov as the best rated, mostly thanks to his impressive DPR compared to the rest of the players, as he managed to survive an impressive 46% of rounds (0.54 DPR), while also managing plenty of kills (0.81 KPR). He was also the Top Pistol Round player of the event, and the Top AWP.

Second best is Na´Vi's in-game leader, Teslenko, who was topping the charts the past two days, but it was hard for him to continue at that level today. He still kept the best KPR in the tournament, 0.82, and is therefore the Top Fragger and he's also tied for Top Rifler.

The Best Player award winner, Sukhariev is just behind as third best rated, but with plenty of amazing performances throughout the tournament, including 3 of the top 5 ratings in a match at the event, the event-best one today against fnatic on de_tuscan with the score 41-16 (rating 2.08). He was also tied for Top Rifler, and very close second for the Top Pistol Round player.

Following is fnatic's best rated player, Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund, who climbed on to the fourth place after great play against Na´Vi today. Behind him is SK's star player, winner of the special award given by Arbalet for second best player of the event, Rasmus "Gux" Ståhl, who also performed great today, helping his team reach the 2nd place.

Top Players
# Player Team KPR DPR Rating
1. Ukraine Yegor 'markeloff' Markelov Ukraine Na´Vi 0.81 0.54 1.27
2. Ukraine Danylo 'Zeus' Teslenko Ukraine Na´Vi 0.82 0.66 1.18
3. Ukraine Ioan 'Edward' Sukhariev Ukraine Na´Vi 0.80 0.65 1.17
4. Sweden Christopher 'GeT_RiGhTAlesund Sweden fnatic 0.79 0.64 1.13
5. Sweden Rasmus 'Gux' Ståhl Sweden SK 0.76 0.67 1.08
6. Sweden Patrik 'f0rest' Lindberg Sweden fnatic 0.79 0.73 1.08
7. Ukraine Sergey 'starix' Ischuk Ukraine Na´Vi 0.71 0.61 1.07
8. Sweden Johan 'face' Klasson Sweden SK 0.69 0.66 1.02

The Best AWP winner, Markelov, was without a doubt deserving of that award, as he even improved on his performance from previous days, getting 48 kills against fnatic today. Although, he did use the weapon significantly less compared to IEM4 (35% to then 49%), but that can be explained by the fact that they had to play all the maps in the same amount here, calling for more AWP-less strategies on certain maps.

Top AWPers
# Player AWP kills awpKPR % of all kills
1. Ukraine Yegor 'markeloff' Markelov 122 0.27 35%
2. Sweden Harley 'dsn' Örwall 71 0.16 24%
3. Russia Roman 'ROMJkE' Makarov 60 0.13 21%
4. Sweden Dennis 'walle' Wallenberg 51 0.11 19%
5. Sweden Robert 'RobbaN' Dahlström 49 0.11 17%

Make sure to check out how the rest of the players performed and all sorts of other stats from the tournament, as it may help you decide which matches you want to watch when we upload demos.

I loved the tournament concept..bringing together some top seeds to play some proper matches with stats that can be looked at afterward, rather than the usual 1 map victories in the early stages of tournaments. This was a far better reflection of the overall best players and most importantly, the most consistent team on CS 1.6 at the moment.

sad 4 fnatic .( THREAT cannot replace Gux in any way... Gux was a link of fnatic, 30 % of shooting and accurate helper... It's sad for fnatic when Gux left fnatic ... In one interview someone from fnatic said that THREAT is a pleasant person, it is pleasant to communicate with him and he has brought a lot of new in the tactical plan. Yes, but counter strike is counter strike... THREAT can be a good person, but he should shoot, play smart and good ... But THREAT doesn't plays good as we see here : hltv.org/?pageid=181&eventid=540 sad..
