CCT announce Global Finals 2025

CCT Global Finals returns, featuring a $150,000 prize pool.

CCT has announced this year's edition of Global Finals, an online invite-only tournament that is set to run April 24-27.

The tournament will feature eight teams invited via regional VRS, six from Europe and one each from North and South America. The European invites will begin from the 9th-ranked VRS team, whilst the North and South American invites will begin from the top-ranked side.

The eight teams will fight it out across a BO3 double-elimination bracket, competing for the lion's share of a $150,000 prize pool.

"With exclusive invitations extended to the top-ranked tier-two teams, the CCT Global Finals continues its mission of elevating emerging talent and bridging the gap between tier-two and the highest levels of competition," CCT said in a statement.

This will serve as the second edition of CCT Global Finals, after the first tournament was run in 2024. That event saw Eternal Fire emerge victorious in a grand final bout with Liquid.

Sorry but that's not really what was in my mind.Honestly I seldom watch matches like CCT as I think it's boring.Matches are divided by levels like we players are divided into ranks. With higher levels I believe means better matches.I take such Matches matters as without matches like this tier 2 teams will not exist. Then talented young players cannot be noticed and new teams with effort put and get abbilitied shall not get into tier 1 races like The Mongles. So boring matches like CCT is really important to this game and the whole esport. In fact without them there will not be tier 1 matches anymore.

It's quite interesting to see CCT's plan 3 years ago compared to now CCT was meant to host 11 Tier 2 LANs between 2022-2024. Then pretty much everything went online with only the Global Finals remaining to be LANs Then that got scrapped and now everything is Online

Running online events, teams cheating on them and eventually viewers not taking your tournament seriously will cost them more in future imo

There's no prize cap on tier 2. There's a prize cap on unranked only but it's 100k per event and 250k per year

I swear someone in the scene said there's a cap for tier 2 in the past, but you're right.

It could have teams like Astralis, FURIA, SAW, Wildcard, and HEROIC, but they are clearly targeting this as an event for decent tier 2 teams and the viewership will reflect that.

It's a T2 online event. I would be surprised if any top 16 team ends up there especially since VRS values LAN higher than online matches.

considering melbourne timezone - this cct tournmanet could have more viewership than melbourne, and melbourne itself could be a dead tournament as well if the superhero teams the kids wanna see Spirit and Vitality don't go

Am I the only one that thinks invites should be from the multiple CCT Series? barely a finals if none of the winners of these qualify for it and its just invite

it wouldn't be ranked if they did that, as otherwise the cct series would have to be qualifiers and have no prize money associated with it, that's my understanding of the vrs system

well yeah cct operates in the t2 space and primarily serves t2 teams by organizing tournaments in the t2 space. Not every tournament can be a $1.25m tournament prize money. cct is operating in its lane and offering now $150k in a world finals type setting - it's great! this tournament is meant for the t2 space. It is not meant to be a major with vitality v spirit in final

why make a "finals" event if it is invite only and has nothing to do with the winners of your cups? i dont see the reasoning

It seems like a big miss to not have enough invited teams to allow them to do Wildcard invites for previous CCT event winners.

"The European invites will begin from the 9th-ranked VRS team, whilst the North and South American invites will begin from the top-ranked side." How are they so bad at parsing the rules. This is clearly not allowed, unless they got an exception from Valve. Invites can only begin from rank 1 when the tournament is filtered, but inviting by regions and subregions is explicitly not a "filter".

github.com/ValveSoftware/counter-strike_.. Read the section on Tier 2 tournaments (3.8, and more specifically, 3.8.3 and 3.8.4). North and South America are not official regions, and therefore class as a filter, and this is explicitly stated in the rulebook.

150K US Dollars guys! Isn't that crazy. No one would match fix under the glorious CCT Banner when 150K US dollars are on the line. Please keep betting on our events guys Parivision academy needs to beat Fnatic 2-0 in glorious CCT circuit to clog your HLTV feed for the 27th time
