30th in the World rankings (higher than PUA, fnatic, 9pandas, m80, eclot, etc) after beating Anti-Eco Club, MIGHT, LAG and Marsborne, seems totally fair.

100% correct. If you see a team bitching, but they aren't attending small local LANs like this that they very easily could, they are morons who don't understand the system, and you shouldn't feel sympathy for them.

I agree, but things like this shouldn't even count to this degree...they went from #67 to #30 in the world for beating MIGHT(#132,) LAG(#250,) and Marsborne (#244) before the update to their current standing. Sure they won it, but they only got 5.5k as well lol.

I'm fine with that. It creates an open ecosystem that gives many more teams than before a chance. If prize money + LAN weren't as impactful as they were then it'd be easier for ESL & BLAST to continue their chokehold over the scene. The teams that don't deserve their chances will fall back down, and those that do will get more chances than they would've before and have a real chance to stick around. While I admit it's not perfect, I'm honestly quite content with where things stand as of now.

How are you fine with them gaining 37 places (I know it's not just them moving up...) while beating a team that's OVER rank 100, as well as two others who are both almost #250. That's crazy to even think about. Not to mention the low amount of prize money for this too. I'm not saying they shouldn't count but nowhere to this degree, sure I could see them gaining some points/places, but 185 points and over 30 places? nah. They beat three VERY low ranked teams, and won 5.5k...and gain the above, that is beyond insane.

Anyone could've gone to this tournament, not going to kill the people that actually went. You're welcome to disagree, but I'd personally prefer teams adapt to the new system then try to bitch about it nonstop. Any team can win on LAN, it's up to them now to go and do it and they can do the same thing. The rules are the same for everybody.

It wouldn't cause as big of an impact if the other teams ranked 30-100 on the ranking were also attending small LANs and seeing their rank get updated. I do think there is a shortage of VRS ranked LANs right now.

Yes this is the problem. There should be many 100k LANs early in the season where you could grind those points. Season has been exclusively T1 so far, which kinda leaves everyone outside ~20 standing with their dicks in their hands.

Yup, more events are definitely needed for the VRS to work right. There are a few tier 2 events being held, PLAYzone for example is hosting a few Czech LANs, but that needs to be seen elsewhere in Europe (and Internationally) as well.

Imagine 'soaring' because you won 5.5k in a local tournament that shouldn't even be eligible for VRS. So pathetic. And somehow they're above NRG when NRG has been actually placing 1st/2nd in these tournaments...yet 1 fragadelphia pushes them ahead of NRG? logic, please use it. They went from 67 to 30 LOL for beating MIGHT(#132,) LAG(#250,) and Marsborne (#244) before the update to their current standing.

NRG will be above them after EPL ends. They would also have been above them if CCT didn't fuck it up for everyone back in january. And yeah, playing qualifiers while not making it (Blast) does not really count compared even to lower tier LANs. And Dallas is after the major invites

I agree, there should be more local LANs, and that reverse sweep was impressive, but its just absolutely busted how much that win boosted BJ winning $5.5k boosted them from #67 to top 30, putting them regionally above NRG, M80 and Legacy lol

It's the amount of VRS they got for their lackluster win....they played 3 ranked teams, all of which were outside of the top 120 (Might) and the others were 230+ and won 5.5k for winning it, and got 185 VRS points. They should get 50-75 MAX VRS because of the teams they played (rank-wise) and prize money earned for winning.

Yeah. Clearly not fixed. Bet theyre just manually banning people like they have always done. This year more and more games have been straight premiere. Fun times playing legit, paying for their service and having to put up with this running in background doing jack. Cant even keep on track how many times their ac has had problems, crashed itself/game/windows. Hope theyll really sort it out and stop the paycheck-stealing twitter bs.

Cache is a pretty primitive map. All you need to do is to dedicate half an hour to learn the names of the positions, and that's it :)

not that hard tbh. Lineups is totally irrelevant for now. If you catch 1-2 useful smokes from instagram/tiktok it should be good enough to help your team. Rest is - as said above - pretty primitive. B, Mid or A :D

the owners think it's cheaper to just have the players use their own PCs instead of ESL paying for PCs and other needed equipment

The whole paradigma of competitve CS is the same conditions for every player, especially on LAN. BYOC is the exact opposite to this princip. What a shame.

They even complained after the rise of Bluejays how awful it is that it is possible to win local LAN beating some pretty low level teams and gain so many positions in VRS when they try to qualify to play international events instead (they won less in EPL going 2-3 in stage 1 than Bluejays did in Fragadephia and only beat american team (paiN) + FlyQuest anyway, so I guess they want to gain some points for losing to EU or something)

Yeah I saw that, a lot of the player just seem to complain about everything so much so that the system apparently makes it impossible to go to local lans while also making local lans too important and also making it too difficult to gain points such that the system is closed off but meanwhile its somehow simultaneously too easy to get points and rise in the rankings (??)
