FlyQuest are taking the team "in a new direction" with the removal of their in-game leader.

FlyQuest are making changes three months into 2025

FlyQuest have announced that in-game leader Christopher "⁠dexter⁠" Nong will no longer start for the team as the 30-year-old has been moved to the bench.

The news comes mere days after FlyQuest were knocked out of ESL Pro League Season 21 in Stage 1 following a painful loss to regional rivals TYLOO in the 2-2 decider match.

FlyQuest's start of the year has been a rough one, with early exits at PGL Cluj-Napoca, with a 0-3 record, IEM Katowice, with two straight losses in the play-in, and a 13-16th place at BLAST Bounty, where they beat MIBR before falling to the champions, Spirit.

dexter had been in the Australian team's starting five since the beginning of 2024, when he returned after a three-year stint in Europe with MOUZ and fnatic.

During his time in FlyQuest, the team struggled at Big Events, failing to make it out of the play-in or group stages at all but the extended ESL Pro League Season 19, where they went out in the second round of the playoffs in 9-12th place.

FlyQuest had a great chance to make it past the Challenger Stage at the Perfect World Major in Shanghai after going up 2-0, but faltered in the best-of-threes and were reverse swept.

The highlight during dexter's time was a victory at the smaller ESL Challenger Atlanta, where he and his men lifted the trophy with victories over BetBoom, SAW, Wildcard, and BIG.

FlyQuest's last change involved looking to Europe for a replacement as Iulian "⁠regali⁠" Harjău was brought on following the removal of AWPer Alistair "⁠aliStair⁠" Johnston at the end of 2024.
