FURIA bench skullz, add YEKINDAR as stand-in *
FURIA have doubled-down on their pivot to an international roster.

Update 19:10 : This article was updated upon the announcement of Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis' signing.
FURIA have announced that Felipe "skullz" Medeiros is moving to the bench, ending the 23-year-old's nine-month stint on the starting roster, in favour of YEKINDAR, who has joined as a stand-in from Liquid until BLAST.tv Austin Major.

"We are grateful for all the effort and work dedicated to the team, and we only wish the best for the rest of his career," FURIA said of skullz in a statement.
This is the second recent change by FURIA, as mere weeks ago they benched Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes and brought in Kazakhstani AWPer Danil "molodoy" Golubenko in a shock move.

YEKINDAR arrives in FURIA after a largely fruitless spell with Liquid, where he arrived in June 2022 as a stand-in. The Latvian's experience garnered with Virtus.pro helped Liquid update their playbook and elevate the team out of a poor patch of form, upon which they finished runner's-up at BLAST World Final 2022 and later secured playoffs at BLAST.tv Paris Major.
The 25-year-old transitioned to a full-time IGL upon the departure of Nick "nitr0" Cannella mid-way through 2023 as Liquid transitioned to an international lineup, but the team struggled and the Latvian's individual form took a nosedive.
YEKINDAR would go on to relinquish calling duties to Casper "cadiaN" Møller upon Liquid's revamp in late 2023, but his individual form never recovered and he found himself warming the bench after a lacklustre 2024.

YEKINDAR will serve as the replacement for skullz, who initially joined FURIA in July of 2024, coming in for previous FURIA Academy player Kayke "kye" Bertolucci, who himself was a short-lived stand-in for Andrei "arT" Piovezan.
The move was part of a significant overhaul within FURIA, which also saw Nicholas "guerri" Nogueira move into a management role within the organization and Sid "sidde" Macedo brought in as coach.
FURIA failed to notably improve their results after said overhaul, bar a brief bright spot when they achieved a top-four finish at IEM Rio 2024. Beyond that, playoff finishes were hard to come by, and skullz only mustered a 0.99 rating in the midst of his team's struggles.
FURIA are now:
Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo
Yuri "yuurih" Santos
Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato
Danil "molodoy" Golubenko
Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis
Sid "sidde" Macedo (coach)
Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes (benched)
