Groups revealed for BLAST Rivals Season 1

BLAST has announced the groups and opening matchups for BLAST Rivals Season 1, set to go down April 30-May 4 at the BLAST Studios in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The eight teams in attendance will be split into two groups of four, whereupon they will battle through a double-elimination, BO3 group stage. The top team in each group will progress to the semi-finals, whilst second and third head to the quarter-finals. The playoffs will be single-elimination BO3, with a BO5 grand final.

The most exciting prospect from the group stage matchups is a potential rematch between Vitality and MOUZ. The elite pair have contested two grand finals in recent times, at ESL Pro League and BLAST Open Lisbon. Vitality triumphed on both occasions, but MOUZ are getting closer with each game played against the world's No. 1 side.

Spirit will consider themselves comfortable favorites in Group B, but an Ilya "⁠m0NESY⁠" Osipov-empowered Falcons are not to be sniffed at, whilst FaZe will be hoping their latest roster iteration will finally come good.
