BLAST releases Austin Major conflict of interest declarations featuring EliGE, siuhy, npl

Seven players and teams have declared various conflicts with their competitors at the BLAST.tv Austin Major.

B8's npl remains on loan from NAVI until the end of 2025

BLAST has released a list of declarations teams and players have made of their conflicts of interest with competitors taking part in the Austin Major, as mandated by Valve.

Seven players are listed as having a conflict with another competing team: Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski, Tim "susp" Ångström, Erik "ztr" Gustafsson, Andrei "arT" Piovezan, Aleksandr "KaiR0N-" Anashkin, Andrii "npl" Kukharskyi and Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek.

EliGE's conflict stems from his well-documented minority stake (0.043%) in Liquid, which he has declared ever since he parted ways with the organization in 2023.

Metizport declared conflicts with two of their former players, susp and ztr: a "performance-based bonus payable to Metizport" in case their team qualifies for the Austin Major and a "percentage share of any future transfer fee." susp qualified for the Major with Wildcard, while ztr failed to with GamerLegion but competed in the same qualifier as Metizport.

arT is set to compete at his first Major with Fluxo since he parted ways with FURIA in the first half of 2024. The Brazilian organization revealed that the former in-game leader had been granted "a small number of shares via donation and holds an option to acquire shares in FURIA" during his time with the organization, the total of which amounts to "under 1% of FURIA's total shares."

The final three players are or were on loan from another organization participating at the Austin Major or its qualifiers.

9 Pandas, who were unsuccessful in the European qualifier, declared that the team had signed a lease agreement with BetBoom over the loan of KaiR0N- for the duration of the tournament, but the 21-year-old never even turned out for the team in the qualifier.

npl joined B8 on a loan from Natus Vincere back in 2023 and the lease period will remain in force "till the end of the second Major in December 2025."

Lastly, siuhy's ongoing loan from MOUZ to Liquid was also declared by the latter organization.

I mean if a team does well, it might get more sponsors, which means the org could prosper, meaning the dividends could get bigger, so you might have an incentive to throw.. Unlikely, but possible.

elige still has shares in liquid? dude hasn't been on team since CSGO. Resolved by him selling his shares. He should've since he was in Col for over a year already as well and still is an active player. Purchase shares when you're no longer a contracted player. mouz should just terminate siuhy's contract. they clearly dont want him. The rest I dont care.

Well, after some research and some calculations, Team Liquid is worth approximately 440 million $$$. So the 0.043% owned by Elige it's valued at about 182k $$$.

As far as i know they are a pretty big fish themselves, even being top 3 in "The Most Valuable Esports Companies 2022" by Forbes. But they kinda have a good structure behind them called aXiomatic: "In 2015, aXiomatic acquired a majority position in Team Liquid. aXiomatic is an investment and management company that focuses on esports and gaming."

Cool to get a glimpse of how professional Counterstrike contracts work. Also cool that this gets declared beforehand, just for transparecy. And sometimes these kind of things are just hilarious. I remember when my football club of choice kicked out its inept coach and hired a new one, who actually managed to get the team promoted to the next week - which in return activated a clause in the first coaches contract, increasing his salary.
