HEROIC and BIG to clash in MESA finals

Meanwhile, B8 and Chinggis Warriors will be battling it out for third place.

HEROIC and BIG are set to face off in the best-of-five grand final of MESA Nomadic Masters Spring 2025, prevailing in their respective semi-final games against Chinggis Warriors and B8 after a day plagued by delays.

The first match of the day, BIG's semi-final series against B8, began over four hours later than originally scheduled, due to "major PC and equipment issues." As a result, the second semi-final between HEROIC and Chinggis Warriors did not conclude until roughly 2 AM local time.

HEROIC and BIG to MESA playoffs, SAW eliminated

While HEROIC have not dropped a map so far during their outing in Ulaanbaatar, Linus "⁠LNZ⁠" Holtäng's men have had some close calls. During the group stage, Issa "⁠ISSAA⁠" Murad's JiJieHao nearly managed to snag Ancient from HEROIC before faltering 11-13.

In the playoffs, Chinggis Warriors almost pulled off the same feat, clawing their way back from a daunting 2-10 deficit before falling short 10-13 in the first map of their semi-final matchup.

BIG have faced more hurdles during their MESA Nomadic Masters run, overcoming Eruption in the group stage in a three-map series with hard-fought 16-13 and 13-11 map victories.

BIG followed this up with a straightforward win over B8, a performance that was not so easily replicated in the team's second meeting with the Ukrainians once in the playoffs. This time around, B8 trounced BIG on the Germans' pick of Inferno 13-4, although BIG ultimately still came out on top with 13-9 and 13-8 wins on Dust2 and Mirage.

BIG and HEROIC have already faced off twice this year, once on LAN and once online. Their first meeting was at the IEM Katowice Play-In, where BIG trounced the new-look HEROIC in the international side's second-ever outing.

The two met again in February in the lower bracket of the IEM Dallas Europe Closed Qualifier, where HEROIC secured revenge 2-1 before eventually laying claim to a place at IEM Dallas.
