Eternal Fire reveal new roster

Calyx and imoRR return in a new five-man Turkish lineup.

Eternal Fire have announced a new all-Turkish roster featuring Buğra "⁠Calyx⁠" Arkın and Ömer "⁠imoRR⁠" Karataş.

The duo have 359 maps together under their belts for EF already, including appearances at the PGL Antwerp Major, and will form the spine around a new and inexperienced core.

That core comes from PCIFIC — currently ranked 196th on the VRS — via in-game leader Emrecan "⁠EMSTAR⁠" Çalışkan, AWPer Baha "⁠lugseN⁠" Emir Şengül, and aggressive rifler Berat "⁠jresy⁠" Özcan.

lugseN and EMSTAR, however, will not continue their PCIFIC roles as imoRR will take over both as AWPer and in-game leader.

The new project is helmed by former Eternal Fire Academy coach Kadir "⁠ElPrincipe⁠" Sivri, where he worked with EMSTAR alongside the likes of Ali "⁠Wicadia⁠" Haydar Yalçın and Samet "⁠jottAAA⁠" Köklü.

"Under the roof of Eternal Fire," the organization said in a statement, "we continue to contribute to Turkish esports not only with our A team but also with our Academy and Young Team projects."

"Our goal is not only to take part in tournaments, but also to successfully fly the Turkish flag in the international arena."

Aurora sign Eternal Fire roster in shock move

Eternal Fire lost their last roster, who now play for Aurora, because of what Özgür "⁠woxic⁠" Eker called "the lack of CS sponsorship conditions in Turkey."

That team, currently ranked 6th in the VRS, made the finals of two Big Events under the Eternal Fire banner which leaves big shoes for the fledgling roster to fill.

The full roster+coach is like +1M€ per Major cycle. Sticker money probably isn't more than that now with two Majors per year.

Since Paris the pace has been 1.5 Majors per year with about 9 month intervals. Austin is the first Major since Rio that is played in normal schedule, i.e. 6 months after the previous one and 6 months before the next.

you are just missing information, that's ok we always have 2 majors per year we only had 1 in 2023 because cs2 was released and they wanted to give the pro scene more time to mature the reason the time between the first and second major in 2024 was longer than usual is because valve was preparing for the open circuit starting in 2025, making sure the majors are always the last t1 tournament in the season, so you'll notice they are now always in June and December, while previously they were around March/April and October/November

I do know all of that. The point is that Paris, Copenhagen and Shanghai were 9 months apart instead of 6, so the future Majors may not make as much sticker money for teams as some of these made. Beyond Paris the other Majors aren't that relevant anymore for sticker money either, due to how much the scene has progressed since then.
