s1mple on top as FaZe eliminate BC.Game

The Ukrainian came up big to close Mirage and dominated Anubis in a straightforward win over BC.Game.

FaZe have survived their first elimination match at IEM Dallas after a scoreboard-topping performance from Oleksandr "⁠s1mple⁠" Kostyliev led the way to a 2-0 win over BC.Game.

Nemanja "⁠nexa⁠" Isaković and company have bowed out of the competition in joint-last place in a campaign for which they were forced to bring back Aleksandar "⁠CacaNito⁠" Kjulukoski from the bench.

The team ended the run with zero map wins to its name, having also lost 0-2 to MOUZ in their opening match despite 8-4 leads in both first halves.

The battle of stand-ins between FaZe and BC.Game had a clear winner, with s1mple stamping his authority on the game.

Following his uneventful start to Mirage, in which Jonathan "⁠EliGE⁠" Jablonowski was the star of the show, the Ukrainian came up big with a quad-kill with a saved AWP to close the match after BC.Game mounted a comeback attempt from down 6-12.

He then went on to dominate in FaZe's superb CT start to Anubis and ended the map on top of the board with a 21-6 score as the team stamped out BC.Game in a 13-4 victory.

s1mple finished the series with a 1.63 rating, adding onto his solid start in FaZe's two-map loss to Liquid on the first day.

"The GOAT is back. We kinda fed him the kills, but the GOAT is back, it's nice to see," Cai "⁠CYPHER⁠" Watson said on the topic of s1mple on the ESL broadcast following the match.
