Techno: "We were struggling at IEM Melbourne"

The feeling is better in Dallas than it was in Melbourne for The MongolZ as they prepare for a rematch against Vitality.

The MongolZ are headed to the IEM Dallas playoffs after two straightforward wins over FURIA and G2, and are now set to square off against a seemingly unstoppable Vitality — the team that knocked them out of the running at IEM Melbourne — in the group stage upper bracket final.

"I'm feeling good, and as a team we're excited to play in the arena again," Sodbayar "⁠Techno⁠" Munkhbold told HLTV after the playoff-clinching victory over G2, while also sparing a thought for FURIA, the team they beat in the opening round. "We haven't gotten rid of our jetlag," he added, "but compared to FURIA, we had one day to rest, and that was plenty for us."

After securing a playoff berth, focus has shifted towards the upcoming series against Vitality and leaving past strife behind. "We were struggling at IEM Melbourne," Techno said. "Every match was close for us. This time, we feel different.

"Last time we faced Vitality, we crumbled so many times with so many mistakes. We were not ourselves at the time. I think this time we can figure it out and cut their win streak."

Beating Vitality would put The MongolZ straight into the semi-finals, adding another top-four finish to the three they've already achieved this year at IEM Katowice, ESL Pro League, and IEM Melbourne.

As far as what's beyond Dallas, Techno shared the talks going on in The MongolZ's camp ahead of the Major in Austin. "If we want to go back home, we'll lose so many days, and we'll be too exhausted," he said. "We've talked about bootcamping here in North America, and then playing Stage 3."
