NRG are off to a winning start at the BLAST.tv Austin Major after a convincing win on Anubis against TYLOO in the opening round.
Alexander "br0" Bro led the way with several crucial triple-kill sequences in NRG's eight-round run on the CT side of the typically Terrorist-heavy map, including this spraydown that helped turn a 3v5 around in round 7:
It wasn't just his impact on the server that made the difference it seems, however, as in the post-match interview br0 told Jacob "Pimp" Winneche that it was his idea to throw "a curveball" to TYLOO in the map veto.
"Anubis is not a map that we usually like to play, but yesterday I suggested a curveball and it worked out," the Dane said.
On the other side, the Chinese squad looked rusty to start in their first appearance outside of Asia since ESL Pro League in early March, with Dongkai "Jee" Ji, Jingxiang "Mercury" Wang and Yi "JamYoung" Yang all struggling to find any impact in the difficult first half.
