Falcons are now on the verge of elimination after their first day of play.
Lynn Vision have stunned Falcons in their 0-1 pool matchup, taking down the international heavyweights 13-9 on Nuke.
Heading into the BLAST.tv Austin Major as favorites behind Vitality, Falcons are now facing the dismal prospect of an early elimination in Stage 2. In addition to the loss to Lynn Vision, Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski's men also endured an 8-13 loss to B8 to begin their Major run.
This result marks a drastic turnaround in form for Lynn Vision, as the Chinese side suffered a crushing 4-13 defeat in their opening game of Stage 2 at the hands of FURIA. Lynn Vision only narrowly qualified for the second stage of the Major, after claiming hard-fought wins over Legacy, Chinggis Warriors, and NRG.
Falcons "not feeling like themselves"
"I wish I had the answer," shared Falcons coach Danny "zonic" Sørensen when asked about why the team was struggling in their Austin Major debut. "Right now we're just not feeling like ourselves.
"I don't know if the pressure is getting to us, or what it is. Could be a bad day at the office. Sucks right now of course, but we still have a good chance if we play our game. We obviously still have to believe, but it's been a really rough day."
Dramatic turnaround for Lynn Vision
After a 4-13 loss to FURIA to kick off their run Stage 2, Lynn Vision look like a new team after claiming Falcons scalp in a Nuke best-of-one.
After bagging the first three rounds off a pistol win, Lynn Vision were forced to fight tooth-and-nail on the T-side. In the end the Chinese squad only claimed two more rounds, including a 2v5 powered by a 4k from Zhe "Westmelon" Niu.
A second pistol round victory propelled Lynn Vision into the lead on the defense, and continued individual impact from Westmelon alongside Sike "z4kr" Zhang, Junjie "EmiliaQAQ" Tang, and Lizhi "Starry" Ye allowed the team to get over the line with a 13-9 scoreline, dropping just two CT-side rounds along the way.
