Hong Kong to host BLAST Premier Rivals S2

BLAST is heading to East Asia for the second Rivals event of 2025.

BLAST has announced that BLAST Rivals 2025 Season 2 is set to be hosted at the AsiaWorld–Arena in Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong, a 12,500 capacity arena located next to the Hong Kong International Airport.

The second Rivals event of the year will run November 10-16 and feature eight teams, four of which will come from the Global VRS and four as wildcards from North America, South America, Europe and Asia.

Interview with BLAST's Andrew Haworth: BLAST 3.0, Austin Major, Mexico Rivals

BLAST noted in their announcement that BLAST Rivals would be the first esports event to receive an "M Mark designation," a special mark granted by Hong Kong's Major Sports Events Committee "to major sporting events that significantly enhance Hong Kong’s international image."

"We are incredibly proud to bring the BLAST Premier Rivals to Hong Kong and make history in the process, as the first esports event to receive ‘M’ Mark recognition," BLAST's Director of Market Development, James Woollard, said in a statement. "This event will combine world-class competition, state-of-the-art production and a uniquely local cultural experience.

The event in Hong Kong will bring together eight teams to fight for a share of a $350,000 prize pool, where teams will be split into two groups of four. A BO3 GSL group stage will decide which teams head to the single-elimination playoff bracket, which features BO3 play up until a BO5 grand final.

It is currently not known who will feature at BLAST Rivals Season 2, with the VRS invites set to go out October 6.

I guess it's personal preference then. I could watch (or listen to at least) the Shanghai major games during the day at work. Sure, I missed a couple early bo1s but that's not a big deal. Now during Austin I probably watched like 1 map so far. The games start when I leave the office, then I drive home, maybe get some groceries, have a dinner with my wife. After that I can maybe watch one game and it won't be the most interesting one, cause that one would be last and start close to midnight. So for me, this is the worst possible timezone. Might not even bother watching the final at night on Sunday if it's gonna be something like Vita vs MOUZ. Maybe if I was like 10 years younger, when I could sit in front of my PC until 3 am and wake up at 11, then american major would be fine for me.

I can’t believe you people still cry about time zones and starting times. Like bro, wtf are they supposed to do? Blame whoever invented time and the solar system. If they try to please your time zone then there will another time zone not happy about it and so on and so on.

Mongolian officials are really into CS stuff so visa shouldn't be a problem. However traffic and manufacture could be an issue. There are only flights from Frankfurt and Istanbul twice a week, otherwise you need to transfer in Beijing or Seoul. And in MESA spring master, the tech issues caused delays up to an hour. I also doubt if ulaanbaatar could fit more than 10K audience all at once since it's not that big.

Unlikely, there aren't any opportunities for the youngsters or any sorts of big esports clubs in here for cs2, the game isn't a huge title here and has a relatively low player count. From my personal experience, we can't play Faceit with decent ping because Hong Kong servers don't exist, and I'm forced to play Chinese faceit (Perfect World and 5ePlay), which isn't a favorable experience either. In conclusion, the HK government does not have major support for creating an esports environment, and I have no idea why the tournament is being held there

LOL lil bro cant play with 33-45 pings on Faceit SEA Singapore server? They have Hong Kong server if u are competing at tournament qualifiers. But Faceit should add back Hong Kong server for pugs I agree. The rest of the comment I mostly agree. There will be some Mainland Chinese visit Hong Kong filling these event seats.
