The 27-year-old Brazilian is reportedly set for a new challenge after a few months on the bench.

chelo has been on FURIA's bench since April

Imperial are locked in talks with FURIA over the signing of Marcelo "⁠chelo⁠" Cespedes, according to a report from Dust2 Brasil, which adds that the 27-year-old is expected to replace Richard "⁠chayJESUS⁠" Seidy in the starting lineup.

chelo has been on FURIA's bench since April, when the Brazilian organization decided to take the team in a different direction. FURIA signed Kazakh AWPer Danil "⁠molodoy⁠" Golubenko—a move that signaled a switch of their language of communication to English — before picking up Mareks "⁠YEKINDAR⁠" Gaļinskis on loan through the end of the Austin Major.

chayJESUS joined Imperial in January as a replacement for João "⁠felps⁠" Vasconcellos. He has struggled to perform at the highest level, averaging a 0,80 rating at BLAST Open Lisbon and a 0.79 rating in Stage 1 of the Major, where Imperial posted a 1-3 record.

chelo is no stranger to Imperial, having played for the organization between August 2022 and July 2023. He attended the IEM Rio Major with the team and played an important role as it reached the semi-finals of the 2023 BLAST Premier Spring Final— his final tournament with Imperial before moving to FURIA.

If the transfer goes through, Imperial will have:

chelo is solid. he is the one to blame for his performance in furia though. not because he is a bad player but due to the fact that he has put himself in an uncomfortable position within the team. playing roles he was not used to and with players that have more leverage than him when it comes to decision making.

In my humble opinion, chelo is simply a very believable and credible player. on his day, he is totally stoppable. whenever chelo steps onto the server, he strikes confidence into his opponents. truly one of the players to ever play Counter-Strike!
