Where does Vitality's BO3+ streak rank in the records?
Even if Vitality's overall match streak has ended, another streak lives on.

One of the hallmarks of Vitality's dominant run throughout the first half of 2025 has been their impressive overall match win streak. Since their loss to Eternal Fire in the quarter-finals of the BLAST Bounty Season 1 Finals in mid-January, the international behemoths racked up an impressive run of 30 victories in a row, spread over the course of four months.
But all good things must come to an end. Vitality's streak ultimately met its demise during the team's debut match at the BLAST.tv Austin Major at the hands of an unlikely opponent, Legacy, in a one-sided Inferno best-of-one loss.

While Vitality's overall streak reset following their loss to Legacy, the team's streak of victories in best-of-threes and best-of-fives lives on after Dan "apEX" Madesclaire's troops secured a flawless campaign once the Major's best-of-ones concluded. So, where does Vitality's streak in best-of-threes and best-of-fives rank among previous streaks?

As it stands, the best we've had so far. While Ninjas in Pyjamas's legendary 87-0 streak is undoubtedly impressive, a significant portion of those wins came from best-of-ones. As such, Vitality, whose only best-of-ones of the year came at the Austin Major, had plenty more opportunities to eclipse the Swedes in this regard.
Following Vitality and the 2012-2013 Ninjas in Pyjamas lineup is 2019 Liquid, the only other team to boast a LAN BO3+ streak of at least 20. The North American side kicked off their streak in May 2019, hoisting the trophies at DreamHack Dallas 2019, EPL Season 9 Finals, BLAST Pro Series Los Angeles, ESL One Cologne, and IEM Chicago before finally faltering at the hands of Astralis in the StarLadder Berlin Major semi-finals.
Despite their dominance throughout 2018 and 2019, Astralis find themselves relatively low on the list, behind the post-COVID Natus Vincere and the Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen-led G2 of 2022-2023 and tied with FaZe during their run at the beginning of CS2. This comes in part due to the higher frequencies of best-of-ones during this period, a more limited LAN schedule for the team in 2019, and from occasional hiccups even in the middle of their era.
Not only are Vitality the winningest team in this metric by a fair margin, but they also are the only ones who currently have the opportunity to continue to extend their streak. As IEM Cologne looms in the distance, offering more best-of-threes and a best-of-five, just how far will Vitality manage to take this streak?
