Iberian Soul part ways with stadodo

The Portuguese AWPer is on the lookout for a new challenge.

Iberian Soul and Renato "⁠stadodo⁠" Gonçalves have gone their separate ways after an 18-month association that began when the team played under KOI, the two parties announced Friday.

An appearance at PGL Major Copenhagen and a semi-final run at the FiReLEAGUE 2024 Global Finals were the highlights of stadodo's stint with the team, which lost KOI's backing at the start of the year as the Spanish organization moved away from Counter-Strike.

Despite the blow, the players stuck together in the hopes of grinding their way back to the top. Iberian Soul finished the season inside the top 50 in the global VRS after winning Galaxy Battle 2025 Phase 3, in which Owen "⁠smooya⁠" Butterfield stood in for stadodo.

The Portuguese AWPer made his final appearance for the team on Friday in a 2-0 win over EYEBALLERS. Hours after the match, Iberian Soul announced that the player was "no longer part of the project."

"I'm off the team," stadodo wrote on X. "There's not much to say on the matter at the moment.

"I'm available to join any exciting project."

Iberian Soul will take on modeame on Saturday in the quarter-finals of Exort The Proving Grounds Season 2. On July 14, the team will face OG in Stage 1 of the Europe Closed Qualifier for ESL Pro League 22.

and now martinez is back, hopefully he can be more impactful for the team, something that stadodo was lately, even he has no talent to be tier 1 awp but he was solid in all the other areas that helped the team to move from +100 to be under 40.
