The 21-year-old has big shoes to fill after zweih's departure to Spirit.

Nemiga have announced the signing of VP.Prodigy graduate Maksim "⁠sowalio⁠" Beketov from RUBY as the replacement for Ivan "⁠zweih⁠" Gogin.

The Cyprus-based organization climbed to 28th on the VRS after making a surprise run to Stage 3 of the Austin Major, but saw their prized possession of zweih poached shortly afterwards.

By saying their CS2 roster is "ready for the new season," the implication is that Nemiga have managed to keep hold of the core quartet that got them there.

sowalio, arriving after being an anchor-lurker for RUBY, will slot into zweih's roles but may struggle more with his fragging responsibilities (1.06 rating in 2025, vs zweih's 1.12 against tougher opposition).

Overcoming that gap in firepower will be a challenge for the highly-rated leadership duo of Aliaksandr "⁠1eeR⁠" Nahorny and Anton "⁠boX⁠" Burko.

In June, however, 1eeR said that "zweih can kill because we have good structure" and that structure will remain intact for the next season and sowalio's arrival.
